Dual works with a minimum of two languages. With three, you multiply combinations.

With 3 languages you get 3 pairs and 6 possible combinations: A↔B, A↔C, B↔C. The listening order is part of the method.
The Dual method recommends these 4 phases for each story:
- First: listen in your language to understand the story.
- Second: listen in your language followed (sentence by sentence) by the new language.
- Third: the other way around — the new language followed by yours.
- Fourth: listen only in the new language.
