  EYES HEART JOSH RUBEN

  I laughed, I was tense (I was scared and also had to tell the guy next to me to turn off his watch AND phone), I squinted mine eyes, a single (happy) tear rolled down my face at a certain someone stepping out of a car

  Q&seAgull with Josh Ruben, Phillip Murphy, Chris Landon, Michael Kennedy, Greg Gilreath, Mason Gooding, Jordana Brewster, and Devon Sawa! Adorably, everyone said Josh is the most wonderful director to work with and someone who truly loves movies. Hilariously, they talked about Josh diffusing any stressful situation by starting to sing Smash Mouth or HAPPY BIRTHDAY 

  Still thinking about a scene where Heart Eyes is walking out in the open and someone in the background so perfectly says, “I don’t like that”

  When a film combines genres (action-comedy, sci-fi western, etc.), it is incredibly difficult to make a successful one. As a creator, you have to balance between the two merged genres in order to ensure each are properly serviced. Simultaneously, we can't feel like we're only getting half-assed versions of each genre that are merged together to create a whole-ass movie. Because if we did we'd just get diluted versions of each of the promised genres in the combination. That whole-ass movie made of half-assed genres would just be that: ass.

  Heart Eyes had a tougher challenge since it is not two but THREE genres: horror, romance, and comedy. I never felt like I was given a third of any of…
