Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man episodes 6, 7, & 8The next trio of episodes of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is now streaming Disney+, continuing Peter Parker's journey as Spider-Man with Norman Osborn as his mentor in an alternate MCU timeline. Now wearing a brand-new suit designed by Oscorp, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man episodes 6, 7, & 8 see Norman helping Peter reach his full potential with his great power, while Harry Osborn serves as his "guy in the chair". Meanwhile, there are several Easter eggs, nods, and cameos throughout all three episodes.

As established in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man episodes 3, 4 & 5, Peter Parker is now backed by Norman Osborn and Oscorp and had begun settling into a new status quo as a young hero. However, new threats are emerging which significantly raise the stakes, while new heroes and villains make their debut in this new animated MCU series, like Daredevil, an armored Mac Gargan aka Scorpion, and even Iron Man himself. To that end, here are 18 of the biggest Easter eggs and references we found in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man episodes 6, 7, & 8.

18 Zaniac & Tomb Buster

Classic In-Universe Movies

Having invited Nico and Harry over to try and get them to bond, Peter offers a few vintage VHS options like Zaniac! (the movie from Loki season 2), and Tomb Buster (the movie from Moon Knight).

17 Predator

A Fun Nod To Infinity War

Predator in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Episode 6

Peter and his friends settle on Predator, which is humourous considering Peter Parker's Alien references in Avengers: Infinity War.

16 Secretary Ross' Search for Steve Rogers

The Secret Avengers

Steve Rogers' Captain America finding Wanda and Vision in Avengers Infinity War

At an Avengers relief charity event, Norman speaks with Secretary Ross and inquires about the search for Steve Rogers, a reference to the events and aftermath of Civil War where Captain America and his allies went underground as Secret Avengers in violation of the Sokovia Accords.

15 Daredevil's Black Suit & Netflix Theme

An Epic Debut For The Man Without Fear

A black-suited Daredevil is investigating Norman Osborn, and the classic Daredevil Netflix theme briefly plays when Spider-Man first encounters the Man Without Fear. Daredevil is also voiced by Charlie Cox, who plays the character in live-action in the main MCU.

14 Mephisto

Confirmed Again!

Mephisto in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Episode 6

Nico's Tarot Cards feature "The Devil", who looks exactly like the Demon Lord Mephisto in the original comics. Mephisto was officially confirmed to exist in the MCU thanks to Agatha All Along.

13 Mac Gargan’s New Scorpion Suit

Finally Becoming A True MCU Supervillain

Nearly eight years since the villain first appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Mac Gargan finally gets his own Scorpion armor in this alternate MCU timeline courtesy of Otto Octavius. Essentially a green rig affixed to his chest, the power armor is equipped with an incredibly deadly and sharp prehensile tail.

12 Tritium & The Power of the Sun

"In The Palm of My Hand"

Doc Ock and his fusion power device in Spider-Man 2

Norman and Peter start scanning energy signatures to locate Octavius. Tritium is mentioned by Peter, though Norman doubts Otto could get his hands on it, a reference to Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 and Doc Ock's fusion reactor which used the rare element. There's also a line about solar energy and Norman also doubting that Otto had "harnessed the power of the sun" (another Spider-Man 2 nod).

11 Klev Films The Drag Race

The Perfect Recurring MCU Character

Severance's Zach Cherry and his MCU character Klev make another appearance in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, this time recording and counting off Harry and Nico's drag race with Hot Rod.

10 Beetlejuice

"I Think You Mean Lydia"

Lydia Deetz holding her camera in Beetlejuice 1988

Hot Rod calls Nico "Beetlejuice", though Klev corrects her with the guess that she meant Lydia Deetz, Winona Ryder's character from Tim Burton's Beetlejuice.

9 Norman’s Glider Rescue

A Tease For A Future Green Goblin

Goblin Glider in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Episode 7

After Peter is stabbed by Gargan in his Scorpion armor, Norman sends a glider to rescue the Webslinger. The glider very much looks like the ones used by the Green Goblin in the original comics, a tease that this version of Norman may soon become the Green Goblin himself.

8 A "Spider-Man No More" Homage

To Be Spider-Man, Or Not To Be Spider-Man

Spider-Man No More Nod in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Episode 8

The end of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man episode 8's opening credits and theme featured Peter's Spider-Man suit in a trash can as he walks away down an alley, mirroring the classic comics cover art from the iconic "Spider-Man No More" storyline. This ties in very nicely considering that this version of Peter Parker is also questioning in this episode whether he should continue being Spider-Man following his defeat at the hands of Scorpion.

7 "He’s Just A Kid..."

Mirroring Raimi's Spider-Man 2

Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 2

When Norman has his doctors and Oscorp scientists work on Peter (and secretly take his blood for testing), one of them can be heard remarking that "he's just a kid". This is not unlike Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man during the end of the train scene in Spider-Man 2 when several New Yorkers saw the Webslinger without his mask.

6 Norman Mirrors Spider-Man Homecoming

Needing Peter Parker To Be Better

Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man lecturing Tom Holland's Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Homecoming

Needing Peter Parker to take Spider-Man to the next level and not hold back, Norman suggests that their partnership may need to end if Peter can't. This mirrors when Tony Stark takes away the Spider-Man suit in Homecoming after Peter tried and failed to stop Vulture and Mac Gargan's weapons deal in the main MCU timeline.

5 Otto's Arms

Teasing The Future For Doc Ock

Doc Ock Arm in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Episode 8

With Norman presumably having sent Ross Otto's location, Octavius takes down several SWAT teams using his classic mechanical arms from the comics. However, the arms remain in the background and are not yet fused to his body as they are on the page. That said, there was a previous line from Peter about how Otto's use of gamma radiation with his tech was risky as it could overheat, causing radiation burns and fusing to the skin.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Cast & Character Guide - Every Actor In The Animated Series

Marvel Animation's Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is in development, and its main cast members are steadily being confirmed in the meantime.

Keeping that in mind, this seems to have already happened with Gargan and his Scorpion armor. When he overheated his suit to free himself from Spider-Man's webs, it seemed as though he made the suit a permanent fixture of his body (just like in the original comics). As such, the same could end up becoming true for Octavius as well in future episodes/seasons.

4 Iron Man Arrests Doc Ock

Working With Secretary Ross

Iron Man in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Episode 8

Iron Man arrives to provide Ross' team with backup, arresting Otto for violating the Sokovia Accords. Not only does the classic Avengers theme play, but Iron Man's animated design mirrors the earliest days of Marvel Comics, much like how Spider-Man and Doctor Strange are patterned after their depictions by original Marvel Comics artist Steve Ditko.

3 The MCU's Chameleon

Dmitri Smerdyakov Is Back

Chameleon in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Episode 8

Dmitri Smerdyakov returns to Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, though this time he's wearing a white mask around his face to conceal his identity. As such, this officially makes him this alternate MCU's timeline's Chameleon, just like his original comics counterpart.

2 First Look at Uncle Ben

A Major MCU Moment (Even If It's An Alt Timeline)

Uncle Ben in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Episode 8

While considering his next move as Spider-Man, Peter looks at a photo on the fridge of himself, Aunt May, and Uncle Ben. Notably, this is the first look at what Uncle Ben might have looked like in the main MCU timeline.

1 "Go Get 'Em Tiger"

A Classic Spider-Man Line

Mary Jane's First Appearance & iconic line ("Face it tiger...")

After revealing the classic Spider-Man suit he had made for Peter inspired by his drawings and designs, Harry Osborn tells Peter to "Go Get 'Em Tiger". This is a classic line from the comics and past Spider-Man movies, though it's one that's typically attributed to Mary Jane Watson and her first appearance, as well as at the end of Raimi's Spider-Man 2.

The final two episodes of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man are set to release February 19th on Disney+.
