Deutschland Miniseries (Sundance TV): Ratings Recap

UPDATED 2020: Sundance TV's 'Deutschland 83' premiered as a miniseries on June 17, 2015 to a minuscule 0.01 rating with 66,000 viewers and went as high as 0.03 in the demo and 143,000 viewers. It averaged 0.02 & 90,000 viewers over its 8 episodes. A second installment of episodes, titled 'Deutschland 86,' premiered 3 years later in 2018 and delivered similar numbers, averaging a 0.02 rating with 83,000 viewers over the course of 10 episodes. A third installment, titled 'Deutschland 89' aired in 2020 to the lowest numbers yet, premiering to zero ratings and finishing with 29,000 viewers. Note: ratings for episodes 3-6 of the final season were not made available.

The Split (Sundance TV): Ratings Recap

Sundance TV's 'The Split' premiered May 23, 2018 to a low 0.02 adults 18-49 rating and 88,000 viewers which ended up being the season's best performance. It fell to a zero rating in week 3 but recovered slightly, averaging a 0.01 rating and 69,000 viewers. It was renewed for a second season which aired in 2020 to much better numbers. It hit a series-high 0.03 rating and 184,000 viewers for its premiere and never dropped below 100K viewers. Its second season average was double the rating and viewership of its first season average, pulling a 0.02 and 139,000.

Sunday November 18, 2018 Nielsen Finals

'The Walking Dead,' on AMC, topped the Sunday cable ratings, but fell to a new series-low in both the key A18-49 demo (1.8 rating) and total viewers (4.79 million). The program again led in both men & women 18-49 (1.87/1.73 ratings), males & females 12-34 (0.95/0.96), and people 18-34 (1.02) & 25-54 (2.27). A Hallmark original movie, 'Christmas in Evergreen' brought in the best P50+ rating (2.51) and the second-best total viewership (4 million) on cable. Among female-skewing programs, Bravo's 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' had the second-best W18-49 rating (1.04) and had 1.86 million viewers; E!'s 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' notched a 0.88 rating in that demo with 1.23 million viewers; and TLC's '90 Day Fiancė' had a 0.8 with 1.79 million viewers. Elsewhere on basic cable, two premiere episodes of A&E's 'The Clinton Affair' were marginal at 0.21/0.20 in the demo with 1.1 million/1.04 million viewers, and parts 3 and 4 of Sundance's 'Jonestown' were remarkably stable from yesterday, averaging the same 0.11 demo rating with 437,000 viewers. On premium cable, HBO aired 'Last Week Tonight' (762,000), 'Camping' (273,000), & 'Sally4Ever' (142,000), while Starz had 'Outlander' (861,000). Showtime had 'Ray Donovan' (871,000), 'Escape at Dannemora' (397,000) and 'Enemies' (175,000). 

Saturday November 17, 2018 Nielsen Finals

Hallmark Channel's original movie 'Christmas at Graceland' took victory on a slow cable Saturday with a 0.66 A18-49 rating and 4.66 million viewers. The program also led in women 18-49 (0.96 rating), females 12-34 (0.52), people 25-54 (0.94), and people over 50 (3.2). The top airing of 'College Football' on the day belonged to Fox Sports 1's coverage of Indiana vs. Michigan which had a 0.86 M18-49 rating, a 0.54 in M12-34, a 0.45 in P18-34, and 2.27 million viewers. Parts 1 and 2 of Sundance's 'Jonestown: Terror in the Jungle' brought in impressive numbers for the low-rated net, averaging a 0.11 rating with 418,000 viewers, and the second part of Showtime's 'Shut Up and Dribble' had 95,000 viewers. Finally, Ovation's 'Versailles' was a speck at 0.01 in the demo with 93,000 viewers. 

Friday November 16, 2018 Nielsen Finals

ESPN's coverage of 'NBA Basketball' between the Raptors and Celtics topped the Friday cable ratings with a 0.73 A18-49 rating and 1.82 million viewers. The lead-out game between the Bulls and Bucks had a 0.71 rating with 1.7 million viewers. The two games were at 1.1/1.04 ratings in men 18-49, 0.85/0.87 in males 12-34, and 0.69/0.71 in adults 18-34. On Discovery, 'Gold Rush' saw big numbers in M18-49 (0.75 rating), P50+ (1.34) and total viewers (2.38 million). Over at MTV, three episodes of 'Ridiculousness' were at 0.20/0.19/0.22 in W18-49, 0.18/0.19/0.20 in F12-34, and 532,000/560,000/613,000 in total viewers. Elsewhere, Syfy aired 'Z Nation' (531,000) and 'Van Helsing' (359,000), and Disney Channel had new episodes of 'Andi Mack' (894,000), 'Coop & Cami Ask the World' (834,000), and 'Raven's Home' (814,000). On premium cable, HBO aired 'Real Time with Bill Maher' (1.51 million) and two episodes of 'Room 104' (220,000/179,000), while Cinemax had 'Tales from the Tour Bus' (47,000).

Thursday November 15, 2018 Nielsen Finals

NFL Network's coverage of 'Thursday Night Football' led among all Thursday cable programs, averaging a 0.97 A18-49 rating with 2.84 million viewers. The game also walked to easy victories among men 18-49 (1.37 rating), males 12-34 (0.79), and people 25-54 (1.15). On MTV, 'Jersey Shore: Family Vacation' topped the day in women 18-49 (0.85), females 12-34 (0.79), and people 18-34 (0.79), averaging a robust 1.21 million viewers. A 'Jersey Shore: Friendsgiving' special was ay 0.45 in the demo, 0.54 in W18-49, 0.52 in W18-49 & F12-34, and had 786,000 viewers. Over at Bravo, 'Shah's of Sunset' notched a 0.42 W18-49 rating with 842,000 viewers, while on TruTV, 'Impractical Jokers' managed 0.28 in that demo with 564,000 viewers. Finally, two episodes of Sundance's 'Deutschland 86' airing early Friday morning at 12am and 1am, were at 0.02/0.01 in the demo and 100,000/45,000 in viewership.

Thursday November 8, 2018 Nielsen Finals

The 'Thursday Night Football' simulcast, on NFL Network, led Thursday cable in the adults 18-49 demo (1.04 rating), as well as in men 18-49 (1.46), people 25-54 (1.29), and men 12-34 (0.82). The game also averaged 2.83 million viewers (in addition to 14.75 million on FOX). MTV's 'Jersey Shore: Family Vacation' took easy victories in both women 18-49 (0.96) & females 12-34 (0.81), and averaged 1.28 million viewers. Two lead-out episodes of 'How Far is Tattoo Far' were at 0.45/0.43 in W18-49, 0.39/0.40 in F12-34, and 617,000/564,000 in total viewers. TNT aired two 'NBA Basketball' games, Bucks/Warriors & Rockets/Thunder, which were at 0.86/0.49 in M18-49, 0.65/0.39 in F12-34, and 1.57 million/1.12 million viewers. Elsewhere, Bravo's 'Shah's of Sunset' had a 0.45 W18-49 rating with 1.01 million viewers, and on TruTV, 'Impractical Jokers' was at 0.29/0.26 in M/W18-49 with 535,000 viewers. Finally, Sundance's 'Deutschland 86' had 0.02/92,000, and two season premiere episodes of IFC's 'Baroness Von Sketch Show' were at 0.04/0.03 in the demo and at 93,000/66,000 in total viewers.

Thursday November 1, 2018 Nielsen Finals

MTV's 'Jersey Shore: Family Vacation' overtook NFL Network's simulcast of 'Thursday Night Football' to win Thursday cable. The reality show averaged a 0.76 A18-49 rating with 1.26 million viewers, including dominant performances in women 18-49 (0.92 rating), females 12-34 (0.84), and people 18-34 (0.82). Behind 'Shore' was two episodes of 'How Far is Tattoo Far' which both averaged 0.40 in F12-34 and 0.42 in W18-49 and were at 583,000/562,000 in total viewers. 'Thursday Night Football' averaged just a 0.75 rating with 2.15 million viewers, but led cable in men 18-49 (1.04), and people 25-54 (0.93). TNT coverage of 'NBA Basketball' between the Bucks and Celtics led all of cable in the males 12-34 demo (0.59), notched a solid 0.74 in M18-49, and averaged 1.28 million viewers. The Pelicans/Blazers game was at 0.53/0.69 in those demos respectively with 1.08 million viewers. A&E's 'Live PD' had a 0.41 in W18-49 with 1.2 million viewers, while Bravo's 'Shahs of Sunset' pulled a 0.39 in that demo with 894,000 viewers. Elsewhere, 'Impractical Jokers,' on TruTV, had 502,000 viewers and 'Deutschland 86,' on SundanceTV, had 149,000.

Thursday October 25, 2018 Nielsen Finals

TNT's coverage of 'NBA Basketball' between the Nuggets and Lakers topped the Thursday cable ratings with a 0.89 A18-49 rating with 1.95 million viewers. The game led in men 18-49 (1.31 rating), males 12-34 (1.02), adults 18-34 (0.89), and adults 25-54 (0.87). Lead-in game, Celtics/Thunder had a 0.85 M18-49 rating, a 0.68 M12-34 rating, and 1.48 million viewers. NFL Network's simulcast of 'Thursday Night Football' took the second spot on the day with a 0.79 A18-49 rating (1.13 M18-49 rating) and 2.25 million viewers. Over at MTV, 'Jersey Shore: Family Vacation' scored cable's best numbers in both the W18-49 demo (0.91) and F12-34 demo (0.78), averaging 1.25 million total viewers. Two episodes of 'How Far is Tattoo Far,' also on MTV, were at 0.53/0.44 in W18-49, 0.45/0.37 in F12-34, and at 606,000/557,000 in viewers. On TruTV, 'Impractical Jokers' was mediocre at 0.24/448,000, and on Bravo, 'Shahs of Sunset' performed well in W18-49 (0.34) and ok in viewers (792,000). Finally, the long-awaited premiere of Sundance's 'Deutschland 86,' the follow-up from 2015's 'Deutschland 83' found a 0.03 A18-49 rating and 98,000 viewers at midnight.

U.S. Cable TV Ratings: 1/15 - 1/21/2018

Ratings highlights for the week of January 15, 2018 - January 21, 2018 on U.S. cable.

TNT's 'NBA: Warriors/Cavaliers' game topped all of cable for the week ending January 21, 2018 averaging a 1.86 rating in adults 18-49 (including a 2.66 in men 18-49, a 2.34 in males 12-34, and 1.93 in adults 25-54) with 4.68 million viewers. Three hours of USA's 'WWE Entertainment' ranked second through fourth on the week, notching between a 0.96 - 1.12 rating in adults 18-49 (1.25, 1.36, 1.34 in men 18-49) and between 2.81 million and 3.57 million viewers. On Bravo, 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' notched a 1.3 rating in women 18-49 with 2.23 million viewers, 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' notched a 0.94 rating in that demo with 1.8 million viewers, and 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' notched 0.82 with 1.39 million viewers.

Rosehaven (Sundance TV): Ratings Recap

UPDATED 2019: Sundance's 'Rosehaven' premiered September 27, 2017 with a double episode, both averaging a 0.01 adults 18-49 rating with 59,000 and 50,000 viewers. The first season of the series aired two episodes per night over four weeks, and concluded to double 0.00 ratings with 26,000 and 19,000 viewers. A second season premiered on October 25, 2017 to a 0.00 rating with 17,000 viewers, but skyrocketed to 0.04 with 164,000 viewers the following week, and ultimately concluded to a 0.02 rating with 98,000 viewers. A third season aired in 2019 on par with its second season numbers, averaging 0.02 in the demo and 112,000 viewers. It has yet to be renewed for a fourth season.

U.S. Cable TV Ratings: 12/11 - 12/17/2017

Ratings highlights for the week of December 11, 2017 - December 17, 2017 on U.S. cable.

With no 'Walking Dead' airing this week, ESPN's 'Monday Night Football' was the uncontested winner of of cable with a 3.8 adults 18-49 rating and 11.8 million viewers. It led the week in all major demographics including adults 18-34 (2.98 rating), adults 25-54 (4.48), as well as both males 12-34 (3.52) and 18-49 (5.36). On NFL Network, two NFL Football games were at 2.14 and 1.50 in adults 18-49 at 8:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. respectively. The first game notched a 2.14 in men 18-49 and the second was at 3.05 in that demographic; in total viewers, they were at 5.2 million and 7.0 million viewers respectively.

U.S. Cable TV Ratings: 12/4 - 12/10/2017

Ratings highlights for the week of December 4, 2017 - December 10, 2017 on U.S. cable.

ESPN's 'Monday Night Football' topped the week in all major demographics including adults 18-34 (2.73 rating), adults 18-49 (3.49), and adults 25-54 (4.13); it also topped all of cable in males 12-34 (3.37), men 18-49 (4.94), and total viewers (10.84 million). AMC's 'The Walking Dead' was the top scripted series on the week with a 3.36 18-49 rating and 7.9 million viewers. It also topped the week in both females 12-34 (2.18 rating) and women 18-49 (3.18). 'Talking Dead', which aired immediately afterwards, had 3.36 million viewers with a 1.35 rating.

U.S. Cable TV Ratings: 11/27 - 12/3/2017

Ratings highlights for the week of November 27, 2017 - December 3, 2017 on U.S. cable.

AMC's 'The Walking Dead' again took the weekly cable crown in the 18-49 demographic, notching 3.28 rating for Sunday's episode. The episode had 7.5 million viewers, and edged out 'Monday Night Football' in adults 18-34 (2.37 rating), adults 25-54 (3.78), and women 18-49 (3.03). The ESPN game, though, led the week on cable in total viewers (8.3 million), and in men 12-34 (2.61 rating) and 18-49 (3.93). A Saturday Hallmark Channel movie, 'Christmas in Evergreen' took third on the week in total viewers (4.0 million).

U.S. Cable TV Ratings: 11/20 - 11/26/2017

Ratings highlights for the week of November 20, 2017 - November 26, 2017 on U.S. cable. 

AMC'S 'The Walking Dead' again dominated the entire week on cable, notching a 3.57 adults 18-49 rating with 8.28 million viewers. It led the week in females 18-49 (3.3), females 12-34 (2.13), and adults 25-54 (4.11). ESPN's 'Monday Night Football' was just behind 'Dead' in the demo (3.53) but had 2.5 million more viewers (10.76M). It led the week in males 18-49 (4.97), males 12-34 (3.36), adults 18-34 (2.89), and adults over 50 (4.92). 'Talking Dead' notched a 1.32 demo rating with 3.22 million viewers, it scored a 0.95 rating in adults 18-34 and a 1.55 in 25-54s.

Ratings highlights for the week of November 13, 2017 - November 19, 2017 on U.S. cable.

AMC's 'The Walking Dead' topped all of cable for the week ending November 19. The show notched a 3.42 adults 18-49 rating and 7.85 million total viewers. It topped the week in females 18-49 (3.17), adults 18-34 (2.52), adults 25-54 (3.91), and females 12-34 (2.06). It took second in both males 18-49 (3.67) and males 12-34 (2.40). ESPN's 'Monday Night Football' took victory in those two demographics at 4.39 and 3.11 respectively.

U.S. Cable TV Ratings: 11/6 - 11/12/2017

Ratings highlights for the week of November 6, 2017 - November 12, 2017.

AMC's 'The Walking Dead' led all of cable in adults 18-49 with a 3.87 rating, and had 8.69 million viewers. The show topped the day in all major demos: males & females 18-49 (4.1/3.64), males & females 12-34 (2.81/2.39), adults 18-34 (2.87) and adults 25-54 (4.38). 'Talking Dead' notched a 1.28 rating and 3.12 million viewers; fourth on the week. FXX's 'You're the Worst' had 205,000 viewers on Wednesday. On Disney Channel, 'And Mack' notched a 1.20 rating in teens 12-17 with 1.4 million total viewers, and 'K.C. Undercover' had a 0.95 teens 12-17 rating with 1.34 million viewers.

U.S. Cable TV Ratings: 10/23 - 10/29/2017

Ratings highlights for the week of October 23, 2017 - October 29, 2017 on U.S. cable.

MONDAY
ESPN's coverage of 'Monday Night Football' between the Redskins and Eagles led all of television on Monday with a 3.89 18-49 rating, and beating everything except 'The Big Bang Theory' in total viewers, with 11.26 million. The game notched a 10.1/24 persons 2+ rating/share on ESPN (736,000 viewers), and an 8.9/22 rating/share (649,000) on the local affiliate WPHI IND. In Washington DC, the game had a 5.6/16 rating/share (363,000 viewers) on ESPN, and a 5.5/16 (353,000) on the local ABC affiliate. VH1's 'Love and Hip Hop Hollywood' trailed only 'Monday Night Football' in the female 18-49 demo (1.59), and was fourth on cable in the adults 18-49 demo (1.09); it had 2.14 million viewers. Three hours of 'WWE Entertainment' all made the top 10 on cable in adults 18-49 (1.15, 1.09, 0.94 respectively), and notched 3.33M, 2.97M, and 2.56M respectively in total viewers. In males 18-49, it did 1.45, 1.28, and 1.18. The season premiere episodes of Disney XD's 'Pickle and Peanut' were at 0.01 and 0.02 at 7AM & 7:30AM respectively, and at 71,000 & 65,000 viewers.

U.S. Cable TV Ratings: 10/9 - 10/15/2017

Ratings highlights for the week of October 9, 2017 - October 15, 2017 on U.S. cable. 

MONDAY
ESPN's 'Monday Night Football' led the entire night (including Broadcast) in the 18-49s (3.71), and was third on the night (highest on cable) in total viewers, with 10.28 million. It hit huge numbers in households (6.13), adults 25-54 (4.09), and adults 50+ (4.24). It led the entire night in males 18-49 (5.36), males 18-34 (3.74), males 12-34 (3.74), and adults 18-34 (3.02). The MLB ALDS game, on FS1, had a 2.68 household rating and 4.49 million viewers. It was second on cable in males 18-49 (1.63), males 18-34 (1.35), males 12-34 (1.22), adults 18-34 (1.03), adults 18-49 (1.24), adults 25-54 (1.42), and adults 50+ (2.32). The MLB NLDS (Dodgers/Diamondbacks), on TBS, had a 1.33 rating in households and 2.21 million viewers. It did a 0.66 in adults 18-49 (0.91 in males), a 0.56 in 18-34 (0.73 in males), a 0.50 in people 12-34 (0.70 in males), and a 0.76 in adults 25-54. On VH1, 'Love and Hip Hop Hollywood' had a 1.62 in females 18-49 with 2.08 million viewers, and 'Black Ink Crew Chicago' had a 0.87 in females 18-49 with 1.12 million viewers. Ovation's 'The Halcyon' had a minuscule 0.01 in the 18-49s and 58,000 viewers.

U.S. Cable TV Ratings: 10/2 - 10/8/2017

Ratings highlights for the week of October 2, 2017 - October 8, 2017 on U.S. cable.

MONDAY
ESPN's 'Monday Night Football' coverage between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Washington Redskins led the entire day (broadcast & cable) in the 18-49s, and beat everything in total viewers except for 'The Big Bang Theory'. The game averaged a 4.27 18-49 rating with 11.94 million viewers on ESPN, and an additional 129,000 on ESPN Deportes (61K), and ESPN 2 (68K). In metered markets, the game averaged a 23.2 rating in Washington D.C. and a 42.1 rating in Kansas City. In Richmond, the game had a 17.0, and in Baltimore, it had an 11.5. The game also had the day's highest ratings in males 18-49 (6.2), adults 18-34 (3.6), males 18-34 (5.3), and adults 25-54 (4.7). In adults 50+, it averaged a 5.1 rating. 

On VH1, 'Love and Hip Hop Hollywood' had a 1.5 rating in females 18-49 and had 1.98 million total viewers. Three episodes of 'Hip Hop Squares' averaged a 0.9/1.24M, 0.84/1.11M, and 0.75/933,000. 'Teen Mom II', on MTV, averaged a 0.88 in females 18-49 (0.87 in females 12-34), and 1.05 million viewers; 'Siesta Key' had 520,000 viewers, and 'TRL' averaged 166,000. News coverage was especially heavy on Monday due to the terrorist attack in Las Vegas, see the table at the bottom.
