Olympics Ratings (1960-present)

WILL BE UPDATED WEEKLY WITH BEIJING 2022: The chart below contains the available Nielsen ratings for the Olympic games beginning with the first televised games - the 1960 Winter Olympics - all the way through the present-day. Household ratings are the only metric available until Calgary 1988 where viewership (in millions) is also provided. Beginning with Nagano 1998, there is also 18-49 data available for most days. For the first three televised Olympics, only ratings for the opening ceremonies were available, but beginning with Tokyo 1964, average ratings for the full olympics are provided through Montreal 1976. Full day-by-day numbers are available beginning with Lake Placid 1980.
