Authorities are searching for two suspects who shot and wounded a store clerk on Sept. 24 following a robbery at 980 S. Western Ave.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m. at an unidentified business located between 9th Street and Olympic Boulevard. Two Hispanic male suspects entered the business and one of the suspects confronted a clerk at gunpoint, LAPD spokeswoman Sara Faden said.

A struggle ensued, and the suspects fled the business on foot. The clerk gave chase, and one of the suspects turned around and began firing, striking the victim once in the face.

Faden said the victim was hospitalized in stable condition and is expected to survive.

“It was not gang-related,” Faden added. “The motive appears to be robbery.”

The suspects were described as being Hispanic men in their 20s. Anyone with information is asked to contact robbery detectives with the LAPD’s Olympic Division at (213)382-9381.
