Junior lightweight titlist Vasyl Lomachenko's masterful ninth-round knockout of Jason Sosa in a title defense Saturday night at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Md., averaged 832,000 viewers and peaked at 886,000 for the live telecast on HBO, according to Nielsen Media Research. The total marks a 9 percent average viewership increase over his seventh-round knockout of Nicholas Walters in his last fight on HBO in November (761,000 viewers). Light heavyweight contender Oleksandr Gvozdyk's third-round KO of Yunieski Gonzalez in the co-feature averaged 690,000 viewers and peaked at 702,000). The opening bout, cruiserweight titlist Oleksandr Usyk's decision win against Michael Hunter Jr., averaged 679,000 viewers, peaking at 774,000. That is a 21 percent average audience increase from Usyk's HBO debut in December when he retained the title against Thabiso Mchunu (560,000 viewers).
