The Wireless was born out of an idea for a youth radio network, which has been talked about and tried various ways over the past 20 years.
But the time for a radio network has passed. The internet brings us to an age where you can tell a story anyway you want and reach people wherever they are, whenever they choose.
NZ On Air provides funding for Radio New Zealand to enable it to provide editorially-independent, high quality public radio for all New Zealanders. The Wireless produces inspiring, insightful and entertaining stories for New Zealanders who have grown up in the digital age.
The Wireless uses social media to extend its reach into the hearts and minds of New Zealand's 20-something population.
