In primetime television's second homage to The X-Files this week, Dean and Sam make like Mulder and Scully as they investigate what looks to be a series of alien abductions. Well, the real truth is out there. Actually, it's so far out there it makes UFO sightings seem like your normal, everyday occurrence. The Winchester brothers enter the world of fairies.
Ben Edlund is responsible for "Clap Your Hands if You Believe" and I don't know about you, but an Edlund-style episode is exactly what the doctor ordered. Don't get me wrong, I love this season, but it can be seriously dark and depressing at times. There's soulless Sam and loveless Dean (he's lost Lisa, Ben and Old Sam). So this tale of fairies (Tinkerbell) and Starman (Sam) and Jiminy Cricket (Dean) has so many funny one-liners and humorous situations that at one point I kept laughing through an entire commercial break.

Aaaaaand we're back! Last week the Country Music Awards displaced our Modern Family, but this week they've returned to their rightful Wednesday night home. This episode focuses on the lead up to Manny's birthday dinner that finds Claire and Phil in a road race, Cam and Mitchell in a race against the clock, Gloria and Jay searching for lost keys, and Manny searching for his lost childhood. Sounds like your typical sitcom summary but Modern Family always manages to outdo themselves with perfect pacing, hilarious performances, and laugh out loud moments.

"I don't think a round of applause would be out of order," DiNozzo told a conference of former agency directors toward the end of "Enemies Foreign," the latest — and, for this season, so far, greatest — episode of NCIS. As the first of a two-parter, it's hard to say exactly how satisfactorily the whole scenario will play out in the end. But this setup was NCIS firing on all contradictory cylinders at once: simultaneously comedic and suspenseful, serious and self-mocking, plot-driven and character-centric, tight and loose.
