Here you will find information about the event, beginning with this message from our Honorary President, Sir Steve Redgrave, during the build-up to the event: As the FISA flag passes from Gifu, Japan to Eton, the countdown to the first full World Rowing Championships to be held in the UK for 20 years begins. Now chosen as Rowing and Flat-water Canoeing venue for the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games, Dorney Lake is firmly in the spotlight. Building on the experience of the widely-acclaimed Rowing World Cup regatta of May 2005, the Organising Committee is working hard to ensure these Championships are even better a rewarding and thrilling experience for all an occasion worthy of the description The Athletes Championships. I look forward to welcoming my rowing friends, old and new, to Dorney Lake in August 2006.
