Flight Test Data Performance Criteria

The F-22 has achieved all 2001 flight-performance criteria and F-22 program criteria established by DoD and the Air Force to include:
  • F-22 Aircraft Performance Continues To
    Demonstrate Outstanding Combat Capability
  • Fatigue Testing Has Completed approximately
20,000 Simulated Flight Hours, Equivalent to 2.5 Aircraft Lifetimes
Developmental testing is essentially complete.

F-22 Raptor Has Accomplished More Flight Testing Than Any Other Fighter Prior to Its Production
The purpose of every flight test program is to determine an aircrafts final design. Simulation is fine, up to a point, and has been used more effectively on the F-22 than on any prior aircraft, but there are performance parameters that can only be checked and validated through actual flight testing. Testing to date has indicated that the F-22 will require minor necessary design refinements and we have made those changes.

F-22 Capabilities Demonstrated to Date - Testing Essentially Complete
  • Aerial Refueling - KC-10 and KC-135
  • External Fuel Tank Carriage
  • 1,724 Mile Non-stop Ferry
  • AIM-9 and AIM-120 Missile Separation - Subsonic and Supersonic
  • In-Flight Gun Firing
  • Supercruise
  • Stealth
  • High Angle-of-Attack Post-Stall Flight with Thrust Vectoring
  • Integrated Avionics Data Fusion
  • Intraflight Data Link
  • AIM-9 and AIM-120 Guided Launches - Subsonic and Supersonic
  • Electronic Warfare
  • Countermeasures
  • Software Stability
  • Four-Ship Offensive and Defensive Capability
  • JTIDS (Joint Tactical Information Distribution System)

I was able to kill all adversaries and accomplish the mission outnumbered 4 to 1. There is no current fielded jet that could accomplish this feat today.
