Colombia announced the change of its position on the Sahara issue and affirmed its recognition of the Kingdom of Morocco's sovereignty over its Southern Provinces. This new position was announced on Friday during the meeting held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, and the Vice-President of the Republic of Colombia, Mr. José Manuel Restrepo, attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Omar Bula Escobar.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Washington, D.C., hosted an official reception to celebrate the twenty-seventh anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne. The event brought together senior officials from the U.S. Department of State, and political, diplomatic, economic, and academic personalities, as well as a wide range of partners and friends of the Kingdom of Morocco. The ceremony was marked by the presence of U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, the second highest-ranking official in American diplomacy.
