No, this isn't about Trump being right.

It is about ~31 years of institutional failure by US National Security elites.

EMALS' failure stemmed from the post 1991 "Peace Dividend" that included the cancellation of MIL-STD-499 Systems Engineering.

The Triple Witching Hour of Post-Cold War U.S. Military Procurement

All of this 'right sizing' and 'Short Victorious War' policy failure was complicated by a triple witching hour of the following:

1. The destruction of Mil-Specs in the 2nd Clinton term
2/
...by something I refer to as "The 1992 Politics of Mil-Spec Cancellations" that led to the radical dumbing down of DoD contractors, DoD workforce, service maintainers & logisticians and Congressional leadership.

I did notice that the OSD chicklet stayed lit up on the trackpad... so looks like reset doesn't take you out of OSD mode despite removing the on screen display. I think that is what happened here!
Pressing ESC got me out of this. Okay... well, I think I just unknowingly made a thread... soo... @threadreaderapp unroll

A sex therapist says:

"You should bring a woman twice to orgasm before you penetrate her."

She then gave a detailed guide on exactly how to do it and explained why you should.

Here’s what she explained:
The guide on exactly how to do it:

1. Start with non-sexual touch.

Do not go straight for the clitoris. Touch her everywhere except where she wants to be touched. Kiss her neck. Caress her inner thighs. Run your fingers along her back. Let her wait. Let her want. Build anticipation before you build arousal.
2. Use your mouth and hands.

The clitoris is your target. Use your tongue. Use your fingers. Use consistent pressure. Do not change rhythm when she gets close. Stay consistent. Follow her body. Watch her breathing. Listen to her sounds. Let her guide you without words.

Want to get ahead of major stock market moves?

Stop watching the S&P 500 alone.

Some of the best clues often come from what is happening underneath the index.

That's MARKET BREADTH.

Here are the breadth indicators I watch daily to determine whether a rally is healthy, weakening… or about to accelerate. And this is valid for short term and long term timeframes as I always share.🧵👇
2/

First, understand this:

The S&P 500 can rise while the average stock is falling.

Why?

Because a handful of mega-cap stocks can drag a capitalization-weighted index higher.

Breadth answers a different question:

How many stocks are actually participating?

That difference is extremely important.
3/

Think of the market like an army.

The indexes are the generals.

Breadth is the number of soldiers advancing behind them.

If the generals are charging higher with thousands of soldiers behind them:

✅ Strong trend

If the generals keep advancing while the troops disappear:

⚠️ Pay attention.

"The EU is secretly negotiating a deal that would give Israel access to sensitive Europol data on EU citizens, including biometric, genetic, health &political data, per EUobserver "

Remember when von der Leyen was accused of plagiarizing her PhD?

Yeah. No one took any notice
Different strokes for different folks.
Funny , the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute united Germany , Israel , the Uk and the USA 🤔

🚨BREAKING 🦠
On Friday, the US CDC arbitrarily shifted higher COVlD levels into lower categories depicted with cooler colors.

Much of what was Very High is now "High." What was High is now "Moderate" or "Low." Low is "Very Low."

🔹2 states/territories artificially shifted from High to Moderate (MS, GU)
🔹5 shifted from Moderate to Low (CA, TX, AK, WA, NV)
🔹4 shifted from Low to Very Low (AZ, AR, LA, NC)

During intense surges, states will rarely get classified as Very High anymore. Presently, transmission is rising across the US, with a 75% chance of a wave, but states will be depicted in blue (Very Low) much longer, making communities less prepared. #Bluewashing

Normally, when the CDC makes a methodology change, they flag it prominently on each of their COVlD monitoring pages. This time, there was no alert and no explanation. Major changes were confined to COVlD, not Influenza A, and not RSV. The questionable change was made in the middle of rising transmission across most of the country; 15 states already have COVlD outbreaks, and others may soon join the ranks. These are serious ethics concerns that warrant investigative journalism.

These issues are aggravated by delayed reporting at High/Very High monitoring sites. Sites with 1-week reporting delays get excluded when the CDC calculates current levels. For example, only 16% of the sites online in Texas (3 of 19) report High/Very High levels, but 90% of those with a 1-week reporting delay (18 of 20) have High/Very High levels, leading the state to get classified as "Low" when really High. These issues snowball and can easily push a state down 1-2 categories when experiencing significant COVlD outbreaks.

The good news is that the individual wastewater monitoring site data are still valid. The bad news is that the CDC maps and level descriptions will now mislead the casual user. Think: "Good data, bad use of data." At PMC, we told you that if there was any funny business at the CDC, we would warn you right away. We diagnosed the issue immediately and will still report accurate COVlD information.

Expect further national news coverage this week. Journalists are welcome to reach out.
In context, here is the PMC Version of the COVlD map. We did not shift to the new CDC #Bluewashing system.

This graphic shows the same data, top under the previous CDC system, bottom under the new coding scheme. The differences will become more apparent as levels rise and states are held in lower categories longer. Maps, old system vs new

This statement doesn't match published USN test reports on the EMALS catapult reliability.

Short form:

"By the end of 2017 the USN concluded that an EMALS equipped carrier had only a 7% chance of successfully completing a typical 4-day

1/ Image
...surge multiple catapult launches for a major combat operation and only a 70 % chance of completing a one day surge operation."

Early 2017 EMALS tests showed one failure in 75 launches that later improved to one in every 400.

This compared to one failure in every 4,166

2/strategypage.com/htmw/htnavai/a…Image
...for a Nimitz class CV steam catapult.

This was due to a fundamental EMALS design fault where any single EMALS catapult failing caused all four to fail until repairs were made.

Steam catapults failures are independent, AKA one failed catapult leaves the other 3 working.

The government said the AISH payment mess was

"fixed by July 31."

People were STILL missing their money on August 14th.

Here's what's still happening right now.

While NO ONE is watching.

Part B conclusion to 'The Committee series.🧵
While Thread A was running?

Three more things happened.

None of them are old news.

All of them are still unfolding right now.

First?

The AISH exemption drop isn't hypothetical anymore.

Alberta's own official guide confirms it.

$1,072 down to $350/month,

While ADAP sits at $700.

Same income,

Wildly different outcome depending which program you're on.
Second:

Calgary Fire Department's own numbers.

Overdose calls UP 170% year-over-year,

On track for a record year.

Not yay.

2,874 substance-related incidents in the first four months of 2026 ALONE.

Already more than half of all of 2025.

Fire Chief Steve Dongworth is on record about the strain.

The Ministry's fair counterpoint?

Opioid deaths are down 65% from a 2023 peak.

Different measure,

And both are true at once.

Hello everyone and Happy Sunday! This is post 57 in my series on Kansas history, today’s story is on a tornado that nearly wiped an entire town off the map with fairly minimal fatalities. Enjoy! Image
The town of Greensburg, Kansas was established in 1885 by D.R. “Cannonball” Green, who ran a stagecoach business that ran through the area. By 1890 the town reached a population of around 500 and water was supplied by the largest hand dug well in the world which was in operation until the 1930s when it became a tourist attraction. “The Big Well” is only one of the reasons that Greensburg is famous though.Image

On May 4th, 2007 a major storm system began to form and impact the Great Plains. At 5:15PM in the evening a tornado watch was issued for a large portion of Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. Storms began to form soon after but struggled to grow into anything that would cause any damage. Just before 8:00, one cell in Clark County, Kansas started to develop and by 8:30PM two small tornadoes were spotted by storm chasers but they eventually dissipated.
