{"id":50732,"date":"2018-01-25T09:59:53","date_gmt":"2018-01-25T14:59:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theahl.com\/?p=50732"},"modified":"2018-01-25T08:44:18","modified_gmt":"2018-01-25T13:44:18","slug":"ahl-all-star-classic-coverage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theahl.com\/news\/ahl-all-star-classic-coverage","title":{"rendered":"Extensive All-Star Classic coverage on tap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>SPRINGFIELD, Mass.<\/strong> \u2026 The <strong>2018 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Turning Stone Resort Casino<\/strong> is just days away, and the two-day event will reach millions of hockey fans worldwide through extensive television, internet streaming, radio and social media coverage.<\/p>\n<p>Hosted by the Utica Comets, this year\u2019s showcase from the historic Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium \u2013 with the <strong>2018 AHL All-Star Skills Competition<\/strong> set for <strong>Sunday (8 p.m. ET)<\/strong> and the <strong>2018 AHL All-Star Challenge<\/strong> to follow on <strong>Monday (7 p.m. ET)<\/strong> \u2013 will be produced by Concom, Inc., and will be televised to national audiences on <strong>NHL Network<\/strong> in the United States and <strong>Sportsnet<\/strong> across Canada.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brendan Burke<\/strong>, the former broadcaster for the Utica Comets and current TV voice of the New York Islanders on MSG Networks, will handle play-by-play duties; former NHL and AHL forward <strong>Alan May<\/strong>, now an analyst for Washington Capitals games on NBC Sports Washington, will provide color commentary; and San Antonio Rampage radio and TV broadcaster <strong>Dan Weiss<\/strong> will work rinkside.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AHL Live<\/strong> is also offering a free on-line video stream of both nights of the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic to AHL fans worldwide. In the <strong>2018 AHL All-Star Challenge<\/strong> on Monday, the four teams will participate in a round-robin tournament featuring six games of 10 minutes each, played entirely at 3-on-3. The two teams with the best records at the end of the round-robin will face off for the championship, a six-minute game also played at 3-on-3.<\/p>\n<p>A limited number of tickets are still available for the\u00a0<strong>2018 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Turning Stone Resort Casino<\/strong>.
