Wheelchairs are available at the Guest Services Desk located inside the main entrance to Navy Pier on a first-come, first-served basis. A valid driver’s license, state ID or military ID is held at the Guest Services Desk in exchange for the rental of a wheelchair.

All levels of the Navy Pier complex are accessible by elevators.

Service animals are permitted inside Navy Pier. Service animals, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), are any guide dog, signal dog or other animal individually trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability. Service animals are working animals, not pets.

Paratransit services can drop off and pick up passengers from several locations on Navy Pier, including the north dock at the Family Pavilion entrance and Entrances 1 and 2. All locations are equipped with ramps.

Accessible parking spaces are available in Navy Pier’s two on-site parking garages, connected to the Pier. In the multi-level West Garage, marked spaces are located near doors and elevators on the first, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh floors. In the East Garage, designated spaces are located at every door that leads from the garage into the Pier.

Chicago Children’s Museum is entirely wheelchair accessible. Elevators serve each of the museum’s three floors, and child- and adult-size wheelchairs are available, free of charge, upon request. CCM also offers a variety of assistive devices, therapeutic and visit guides, special programs and a staff trained to support visitors with disabilities. Chicago Shakespeare strives to make its facility and performances accessible to all patrons. At designated performances of most productions, Chicago Shakespeare offers open captioning, ASL duo-interpretation, touch tours, and audio description. The Mystic Blue’s second deck is wheelchair-friendly and is outfitted with accessible restrooms. Odyssey Cruises’ second deck is wheelchair-friendly and is outfitted with accessible restrooms. Seadog Cruises vessels can accommodate most standard-sized manual wheelchairs. For information regarding extra-large or motorized chairs or for specific questions regarding boarding please call us in advance at 1-888-636-7737.

Shoreline offers a number of cruises accessible to passengers using wheelchairs or crutches. Our one-level vessels, Voyageur, Riverview and Cityview, offer the most convenient options with space for a wheelchair and restrooms on the same level. Our multi-deck vessels also offer some wheelchair accessibility. Our Water Taxis are not wheelchair accessible. Taxi dock access for those on crutches would involve climbing one to two flights of stairs.
