Funkcija
[uredi | uredi izvor]Protein kodiran ovim genom je protein periferne membrane koji je komponenta uskih mešućelijskih veze ili TJ. TJ tvore apikalna spojna struktura i djeluju na kontrolu paraćelijske propusnosti i održavanje ćelijske polarnosti. Ovaj protein je povezan sa angiomotinom, proteinom koji veže angiostatin i regulira migraciju endotelnih ćelija i stvaranje kapilarnih.[6]
