#DGIQ + #EDW 2026 in San Diego was a blast. What a week. Five days of sessions, conversations, and community with the best data management and governance practitioners in the world. Here's a look at what the FSFP team was part of: Kelle O'Neal & Josh Henderson – "Leveraging AI to Accelerate Data Governance" A standing-room session on how generative AI is reshaping the data steward's role, from content creation to content validation. The live demo illustrated exactly how organizations can start embedding AI into their governance workflows today. The takeaway: the operating model is the control. Technology is the accelerant. Becky Lyons – Sponsor Coalition Building Becky shared practical, hard-won strategies for identifying, recruiting, and aligning the executive sponsors that every data governance program depends on. Women in Data Management & Governance Proud to see members of our team at the DataVersity Women in Data event, a powerful gathering of leaders pushing this field forward. And yes... an outdoor lunch by the San Diego Bay didn't hurt either. DGIQ + EDW is always one of the highlights of our year. The sessions are sharp, the community is generous, and the conversations that happen between sessions are often the most valuable aspect of it all. English: What a week!!!! loved the energy at this year’s #EDW #DGIQ. There is something truly special about a space that brings together data professionals from across the globe to exchange experiences and push the boundaries of what’s possible. Beyond the technical insights, the highlight of my week was the people: meeting new faces and catching up with long-time friends. A massive thank you to Tony Shaw and Shannon Kempe . Thank you for believing in the growth of the Spanish-speaking data community. Last year, we started with just one session in Spanish. This year, we had three. Hearing attendees talking about these sessions and seeing so many people attempting to use Spanish in their daily conversations was incredibly moving. We are just getting started DataLink Global My Biggest Takeaway: Data strategy is evolving. My professional focus has always been on humanizing data management and governance. This conference confirmed that we are moving toward a "human-centered" standpoint. It’s not just about rigid processes and policies; it’s about the people behind the data. Last day at the 2026 DGIQ + EDW Conference in San Diego. I’m coming back with new ideas, valuable connections, books to continue learning from (Special thanks to Jimm Johnson, CDMP, ADGP for signing the book for us 🥹), and even more excitement for the future of Data Governance and Data Quality. One of the best parts of this experience was meeting knowledgeable and inspiring people who were open to sharing their experience and staying connected. Thank you all for the kind welcome and for making me feel included. I’m very grateful to Salt Lake Community College for this opportunity.
