Finnish Defence Minister Antti Häkkänen (NCP) said he does not believe that US President Donald Trump would order a military strike on Greenland.

He made the remarks in an interview with tabloid Ilta-Sanomat.

Trump has repeatedly said that the United States must acquire Greenland. Häkkänen argued that any such attack would have serious repercussions for America's network of allies.

He added that, despite tensions surrounding Venezuela, Trump remains committed to Europe's security arrangements and to Ukraine peace negotiations.
