    An admin asked me how did the attacker get in? I showed him what Shodan had for his 2011 SBS DC. Port 80 and 3389 open, with this screenshot readily available. This is going to be a tough mystery to solve... I know it's been a challenging year, but please don't expose RDP.

  14. In our previous reporting of the imminent shutdown, threat actors had told BleepingComputer that the operators of the Maze Ransomware-as-a-Service have retired, but that some affiliates moved over to a new RaaS known as Egregor.

  15. In today's announcement, Maze denies any cartel existed, even though they used the term when on their data leak site. Whether this was a publicity stunt is unknown, but multiple ransomware actors have told BleepingComputer that this cooperation existed.

  16. In June, Maze told BleepingComputer that they had begun cooperating with other ransomware groups, including LockBit and Ragnar Locker. BleepingComputer then coined the term "Ransomware Cartel," which Maze began using when "shaming" victims on their site.
