IIMs Hub Indian Institutes of Management
The Indian Institutes of Management or IIMs were set up to provide quality management education in India. The first IIM was established in Ahmedabad in 1961 with the aim to nurture young minds in the field of management. Admission to any of the IIMs is based on the Common Admission Test or CAT. The existing IIMs are:
Seven new Indian Institutes of Management or IIMs have been setup, four of which started functioning from 2010. The four new IIMs which became functional in 2010-2011 are at Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu), Ranchi (Jharkhand), Raipur (Chhattisgarh) and Rohtak (Haryana). The remaining three IIMs at Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan started functioning in 2011.
