PINK XMAS: The Holiday Cheer of Japanese Sexploitation, in NYC

Two Weeks Only, FREE SCREENINGS!

Pink Eiga and GreenCine are excited to present a softcore sex-travaganza for the holidays with 6 of the wildest Japanese "pink films" in history. Pink films ("pinku eiga") are hour-long erotic indies—shot on 35mm, with high production values and artistry—which run the genre gamut from comedy to romantic drama, exploitation and horror. Rarely seen outside of Japan, these strange, shocking and sometimes touching stories push creative and cultural boundaries... while fulfilling the requisite number of sex scenes! Two of the films are by the Academy Award winning director of Departures. "PINK XMAS: The Holiday Cheer of Japanese Sexploitation" runs December 24 – January 6.

tsumugi.jpg

"They're usually the training ground for some great directors. Jazzy, snazzy and often totally, outrageously avant-garde, they ain't your garden variety pornos. In fact, they're some of the most head-spinningly wild movies you'll ever see, where making your brain bubble is the first priority and showing sex in a salacious manner is a distant second." - Grady Hendrix, VARIETY ASIA

  • *** $3 RESERVE TICKETS, or FREE at the Door (Seats permitting)
  • *** COME EARLY FOR LIQUOR & SNACKS! Last call 5 minutes before showtime
  • *** PINK EIGA DVDs for SALE in the Theater ($15 each, $40 for 3)
  • *** RAFFLE GIVEAWAYS! Enter to win a 3-month membership to the GreenCine DVD rental service for free.
