It is very unfortunate that in our country where thousands find it difficult to get one square meal in the day let alone nutrious food 4 lakh eggs were smashed while celebrating Holi. It would have been far better had these eggs been given to Govt. Schools for mid day meals or to some destitute homes.
Incidentally Egg throwing was never a part of Holi celebrations in the ancient times and is nothing but aping the West where cake throwing is seen as fun

Bangalore Mirror’s news on exam fear killing student is sad. I think it’s time the parents stop pressuring the kids and start thinking how help them cope up with academic pressure.

The society at large has become too greedy and selfish. Except a few parents, most of them want their children become doctors or engineers. It is unfortunate that there are many opportunities for the kids to be successful than becoming a mere doctor or engineer. Many parents are not aware of these. It would be asinine to put pressure on kids. The parents should be amiable; understand the kids, know them and lead them to right direction.

Angst and animosity have killed these kids. Hope the avaricious parents re alize.

It is like a store owner who raises prices excessively and then offers 20% discount. All food/goods are finally transported by Trucks to stores, and this big raise in petrol/diesel will raise the cost of all food/goods in India. This will lead to much higher inflation. Congress should act more matured, and respect the intelligence of Indian people!
