I very much love my boyfriend, even though he is not eco-conscious at all. At times, I contemplate leaving him because he spends without concern, but I just love him too much. I hope to convert him.

I say, why not be with someone who isn't eco-conscious? Isn't it better to spread the "green" mentality instead of interbreed within the network?

Interesting mix ... my guess is that they provide a good range of schools to work with and to try to find solutions that will work across the wide range of schools that exist around the country.

Chirky,

One of the main barriers to larger (well-known) schools is the bureaucracy that usually gets in the way of even establishing some sort of energy-efficiency program, let alone one that tackles their entire energy-producing protocol.

But I wouldn't sneeze at the fact that Mizzou is on there. That's some pretty good finagling, and being an Illini, I am more than jealous.

None on the west coast? Why are most of these teeny colleges that no one has ever heard of? Not to dis them, but I think I'd feel better if some top name schools were on there.

This would work very well for a city taxi, especially in more crowded cities where a Crown Vic is tough to maneuver.

Protecting my bike is a little more important to me than aesthetics. Any rack that isn't a metre/yard tall isn't worthwhile. In many cities there are too many as...uh, airheads who vandalize locked bikes by pushing them over to bend rims. Such morons see unattended bicycles as targets for "fun", not others' private property to be respected.

The best public rack I've seen is a horizontal bar a metre high with triangles on the underside (much like hangers). It's high enough to stand the bike and the triangles let cyclists lock in the wheels as well.
