It is a database of Irish living organisms developed as part of the Biochange project funded by the Irish Environmental Protection Agency. It is currently (May 2007) in a very early stage of development. Presently, the database includes a preliminary set of incomplete data on seaweeds, flowering plants, and marine vertebrates and invertebrates for test purposes. The final version of the database will include sources, references, distributional data and other information. Information provided will include conservation status, ecological preferences and taxonomy. It is hoped that these data will be of use to professional and amateur scientists and naturalists alike. It is intended to provide information on a county by county basis. The database is being updated continually. Species data can be searched by clicking on the categories above.
