About IGN Community Tools

Have you set up your free IGN account yet? Just pick a username and password and fill out the form and you're good to go.

Once you've got an IGN account, you are ready to take advantage of a number of handy features, accessible from articles, search pages, and the left-hand site navigation. Here is a brief description of what the different tools do:

Email Alert
Click the check box and the game, dvd, umd, etc. in question will be added to your email alert list. We will shoot you an e-mail when new information for that item is available on IGN. We'll do the dirty work for you and consolidate our daily updates into a single e-mail and deliver it to your inbox. Don't want to receive emails for that game anymore? Simply uncheck the box or remove it from your

Add to Wishlist
Create your own wishlist by adding and ranking your most-wanted games, dvds, or umds. Email your wishlist to a loved one and let the game makers know what specific titles and types of games you're looking forward to via our daily rankings. The IGN editors also keep a close watch on the most-wanted titles and try to deliver even more updates on the games you're most looking forward to. And best of all, an up-to-date wishlist qualifies you for a chance to win your top 5 games every week!

Add to Collection
Select from tens of thousands of games, dvds, or umds in our database and mark off the ones you own to keep track of your whole games collection, from the oldest NES game to the latest Xbox release. You can sort your collection, print it, get stats on how many games you own, a percentage breakdown of platform distribution, overall rating, and more. The system even estimates the $ value of your collection. Own a game that's not on our list? No problem, we'll add it!

Playing Now
Are you switching off between saving the galaxy and racing GT cars? Mark this check box to let other users know what games you're actively playing. For now, it's just for informational value -- but rest assured that we will add more functionality in the future to expand on this concept.

So, don't be shy. We developed these tools for you. Start using them and you'll find they will help you get more out of IGN. Click on any game in your collection or on your wishlist and you'll be brought to a page that shows all articles available on IGN for that particular game. No more wading through index pages or wrestling with way-too-complicated search engines. Just add a game to your user page and you've got instant access to everything that matters. There are even shortcuts that let you jump directly to guides, codes, FAQs or free message boards related to your favorite games.

You can even set up a where you can let the world know who the hell you are (or pretend to be, if that's getting too personal for you...). And when you're done with everything, send it to your buddies or include it as your signature on message boards.
