Burning Truth is now giving away 5 sets of Beta keys for its members. The rule is to find a landmine that is located somewhere on the site, submit the code to defuse the mine and receive your beta key. So, what are you waiting for? Grab your mine-detector and start searching. Good luck to all of you Frontlines fans.

If you live in New York (home of Kaos Studios) and like to play games, you might want to check out the Twitter feed posted by Mitch, the community manager over at Kaos Studios. They're looking for people who meet the above description, and since I am pretty sure Mitch isn't a sexual predator trying to lure you in, I'd say it has something to do with Frontlines, which makes it very appealing.

If you're interested, drop him a line. You can even send him a private message over our forums system. Just head to his profile and fire one off!

New Burning Truth vehicle update - Attack Helicopters  [ 2 Comments BERJAYA ]
15:50 PST | Pyros | Print News | Category: Community News - Mods - Community News
The folks over at Burning Truth have published another vehicle transmission, focusing on the Western Coalition and Red Star Alliance attack helicopters. Here is a brief blurb:
The Mohawks pilot controls a pod of 80mm rockets aligned with the forward axis of the aircraft as well as a Firefly decoy dispenser. The gunner controls a remotely-operated turret in the nose that houses a 25mm auto cannon, and the sighting/launch system for a payload of wire-guided anti-tank missiles carried by the aircraft.
The article goes into quite a bit of detail about these two vehicles, so be sure to check it out!

Kaos makes it on top 10 up and coming studios list  [ Comment BERJAYA ]
13:05 PST | Pyros | Print News | Category: Community News
The folks over at Primotech have compiled a list of the 10 up and coming game studios to watch for, with Kaos making the place at number 10. Here's what they had to say about Kaos:
Why It Made The List: Every so often, a team of artists and coders create a wildly successful mod and transitions its way into becoming an actual game developer. Thats the case with Kaos Studios (then Trauma Studios) and its immensely popular Battlefield 1942 mod, Desert Combat.
If what we've seen of Frontlines so far is any indication, Kaos isn't a "up and coming", they're already there!

Multiplay previews Frontlines
17:24 PST | Pyros | Print News | Category: Previews
A new Frontlines preview has surfaced from multiplay, a UK based LAN party, where attendants got the chance to see an exclusive preview of the game and its single player portion. Most of the article is composed of stuff we already know, but this one bit stands out as being very interesting:
The tedious repeating of death, respawn and retry that is common in so many games today has been removed completely from Frontlines death causes you to take over from another soldier in your platoon at the same point in the battle never again will you have to battle your way through the same bit of the game over and over!
That is certainly something I had never heard of before, and sounds like it could really be unique, although there are a lot of questions about how that works. I do like the idea of being in the middle of the action all the time though. No one likes to repeat the same sequences over and over, or take a long hike to the firefight, so that's a great idea!

Frontlines to feature User Creatable Content
1:23 PST | Pyros | Print News | Category: Previews
If you check the Frontlines: Fuel of War profile page over at Xbox.com, you might notice something interesting: the game supports user creatable content over Xbox Live. No word yet on what users will be able to create or share, but it is a fantastic move on the part of THQ and Kaos to allow for user-created content. The page also goes on to say that the game will support Xbox Live Vision, teams, leaderboards, and online tournaments, which is fantastic news for the competitive community.
