The Center for Countermeasures, previously known as the Office of the Test Director (OTD), Precision Guided Weapons Countermeasures (PGWCM) Test and Evaluation Directorate, was founded in 1972 as the Department of Defense focal point for precision guided weapons countermeasures/counter-countermeasures analysis and testing.   This Center provides the DoD  community with extensive experience and knowledge relating to precision guided weapons systems (and related componentry), their performance in a countermeasures environment, and counter-countermeasures hardening techniques.   We provide independent analysis and testing, technical consulting services, and extensive mobile-field test capabilities to DoD and US Military activities on a non-reimbursable basis.

Our Mission

The Center for Countermeasures is chartered to direct, coordinate, support, and conduct countermeasure/counter-countermeasure test and evaluation applicable to all precision guided weapon systems, including electro-optical guided weapon systems, millimeter wave guided weapon systems, and related componentry, and such other test and evaluation activities as the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Director, Operational Test and Evaluation (DOT&E) may direct.
