Objectives
[edit]- Strategies for countering gender biases on Wikipedia and boosting representation.
- Pathways to advanced roles, from becoming trusted editors to pursuing advanced right and administrator status on Wikipedia.
- Practical tips for high-impact editing, conflict resolution on Wikipedia.
Expected Outcome
[edit]- By the end of the workshop, at least 50% of participants will be able to identify common gender biases on Wikipedia and practical strategies for improving representation of women.
- By the end of the workshop, participants should know the pathways to becoming trusted editors and demonstrate an understanding of the requirements for advanced rights and administrator status on Wikipedia.
- By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to apply practical high-impact editing techniques and correctly implement simple approaches to resolving conflicts and editorial disagreements on Wikipedia.

April Skill Up Workshop Edit-a-thons Contest
[edit]The contest will commence on the 13th of April 2026 and end on the 13th of May. Please note that edits made before the official start time will not count for this contest.
Focus Area
[edit]This month’s theme is Women's Right—articles about women who have championed rights, influenced policies, and driven initiatives that protect, empower, and improve the rights and lives of women. The contest is global (not limited to Africa): you may create or expand articles about these women from any part of the world, as long as they align with the theme.
