I’m not ready to say goodbye to someone like you again…

happy 10 years to undertale ♡

i truly wish i could describe the impact undertale had on me when i was younger, but i doubt i would ever be able to find the words. i do hope this piece hints to it though. i don’t think i would put as much time and effort into something like this if it wasn’t out of genuine love and appreciation. undertale means a lot to me!

anyways, a little background: this picture was (sort of) a remake of two asriel drawings i made a few years ago. the first one was done in 2015, while the other was a remake for the 5th anniversary in 2020.

even if it’s not a faithful remake, the subject is still the same, and i think that’s what really matters. (i also made all of these on mspaint. that probably counts for something!)

my memories of 2015 are quite faint now, but i hope i will always remember watching a playthrough of the true pacifist route and witnessing asriel’s fight for the first time. everything about it was truly mindblowing to me at the time. the build-up, the actual fight, the dialogue through it all… it would make me cry because it was all so beautiful. it’s had such an impact on me that watching the first no-hit of this fight recently brought me to tears again, even though i hadn’t watched the fight in years!

anyways, i hope everyone likes my little contribution. undertale may not have been at the forefront of my mind these past 10 years, but there will always be a little part of me that loves it dearly. thank you everyone who helped bring this game to life.
