Peter Ebdon is through to the quarter-finals of the Embassy World Championship after a convincing win over Joe Perry.

Ebdon began the evening session 11-5 ahead and needed only two frames to claim victory.

After winning the first frame of the session, the number seven seed then dropped the following two frames as Perry registered an impressive 109 break.

But Ebdon took the 20th frame to wrap up a comfortable win.

He now faces the winner of the second-round match between Mark Williams and Anthony Hamilton in the quarter-finals.

Ebdon said afterwards that he felt in good shape, although he knew he had to be at his best against Perry.

"I had a good second session, played pretty solidly this morning," he said.

"I wasn't very happy with the way I played in the first session, but Joe is a very good, improving match player and it's a very good win for me."
