Autumn Gold : Elvis Holds His Own CD

Audionics will release new 2-CD set in early August: 'Autumn Gold'. It will include the complete South Bend, Indiana show from October 1st, 1974 and a generous chunk of the famous August 16, 1974 RCA Hollywood rehearsal in a totally different sound - binaural stereo, as it was originally recorded. The South Bend date was originally issued in 2003 by the Follow That Dream Collectors label [Dragon Heart] but 'Killing Me Softly With His Song' and some stage dialogue were omitted, and the closing vamp was clipped.

Prince From Another Planet : 40th Anniversary Madison Square Garden Box Set

Sony Music will release 'Prince From Another Planet', a Madison Square Garden 40th Anniversary Set on September 28. The set will include a 40 minute DVD with never-before-seen footage of Elvis' performance at The Garden' in June 1972 along with two remastered CDs of the June 10th afternoon and evening shows, both remixed by Michael Brauer. A 48 page booklet with liner notes by Patti Smith's guitarist Lenny Kaye who attended the June 10th show as young reporter for Rolling Stone Magazine will add a special touch to the set. The original MSG release was rush released and as a consequence did not receive the mastering it deserved. This time around he states that the sound is awesome and just like being in the Arena with Elvis!

FTD have released the G.I. Blues FTD 2 CD Special Edition Classic Album [Vol. 1], in the classic album series. It is now time for the first volume of 'G.I. Blues' material. As always in a 7" inch digi pack format with booklet. However, this time without the In-and-Outtakes section, which will be featured in Volume 2, in order to summarize all the G.I. BLUES recordings. A lot of effort (and money) has gone into making these the best sounding 'G.I. Blues' recordings ever. So this will be a very special and the ultimate release!!!

Released : From Hawaii To Las Vegas Soundboard Rehearsal FTD CD

FTD have released 'From Hawaii To Las Vegas'. The CD is in the 5" digi pack series. The rehearsal was recorded from the soundboard at Elvis' January 25, 1973 Las Vegas dress rehearsal for his January/February season at The Las Vegas Hilton. The rough audio is more than compensated by the fascinating insight into how Elvis worked in order to create his shows. With little talk and a lot of music we are invited to a first row presentation of what he had in mind and yet he decided to change the repertoire the very next day. Among the many songs is 'Separate Ways', rehearsed with and without the orchestra, a song that Elvis chose to never perform in public. So an interesting CD release and one to look forward too.

The book is loaded with unseen pictures. It's hard to believe that so many photos were taken prior to 1956, in an era where photography was 'new technology'. Already we can see signs of fan favourite's coming through and that the double album release will be quite unique. An American Trilogy did not chart in Australia but is currently in the No. 1 spot, likewise, Little Egypt also did not chart and rounds out our sample at No. 10. Another Saturday Night FTD 5" Soundboard Concert CD

FTD will release Another Saturday Night in their 5" Soundboard Concert CD series at the end of April. If one place is to be picked as the most important in the career of Elvis Presley, it is without doubt Shreveport in the northwest part of Louisiana. The exposure that Elvis got through the radio broadcast of The Louisiana Hayride in 1954-56 was one of the key factors of establishing the early part of his career. With the exception of Las Vegas, there is no place where Elvis played more shows, and his return to the city in 1975 was like a homecoming to both Elvis and the many fans he had there since he started out. FTD have chosen to release the soundboard from the evening show of June 7, definitely a show that Elvis and the audience truly enjoy, and with a great set list featuring old and new favourites. 5" digipack with an eight-page booklet.

Welcome Home Elvis 1960 : Hardcover Book from FTD

At the end of April FTD will release Welcome Home Elvis, a 260 page book covering the weeks in 1960 where Elvis regained control over his career. The format is the same as the well-known FTD book format (King Creole : The Music and A Moment In Time). The book includes: More than 300 photos, many of them previously unpublished, text by David English and a CD with the original mono master for 'Elvis Is Back!'.
