Quibity (legally Quibity Srl) is a Sammarinese telecommunications company that sells prepaid eSIM data plans to international travellers. The service was launched in December 2023 under the name eSIM.sm by Magic Srl, a digital technology company based in San Marino, and was renamed Quibity in April 2026 after the company reported having served more than one million users.[1][2]
History
[edit]Magic Srl was founded in San Marino in 2016 by Simone Falcini and Francesco Pisano as a web agency and later moved into digital technology products.[3][4] The company is certified as an innovative high-technology enterprise by San Marino Innovation, the country's institute for technological innovation.[5] In December 2023 Magic Srl launched eSIM.sm, a service that let travellers buy prepaid mobile data plans delivered as an eSIM, without a physical SIM card or identity registration.[4] By November 2024 the service provided access to 4G and 5G networks in more than 100 countries.[5]
In April 2025 Magic Srl became a gold sponsor of San Marino's participation in Expo 2025 in Osaka, supplying eSIM connectivity to the staff and volunteers of the national pavilion.[6][7]
In January 2026 the GSMA, the trade association of the mobile telecommunications industry, announced Quibity Srl as one of its new members.[8] Quibity Srl was founded by Magic Srl and registered in the San Marino company registry on 26 February 2026, taking over the eSIM.sm service; Magic Srl remains its parent company and continues to operate as a web agency.[4] On 31 March 2026 the company filed an international trademark application for the Quibity brand with the World Intellectual Property Organization.[9] The rebrand from eSIM.sm to Quibity was announced publicly on 27 April 2026, at which time the company stated it had connected more than one million travellers.[10][1][2] Falcini, the company's director, said the new name was intended to provide "a stronger and more memorable brand" for the next phase of growth.[2]
Services
[edit]Quibity sells prepaid, data-only eSIM plans for single countries, regions, and worldwide use, and reports coverage in more than 190 countries and territories.[1][3][11] Its Global Plan is a pay-as-you-go plan with no expiry date that operates in more than 155 countries, and the company also offers regional plans such as a European plan covering 31 countries and a Balkans plan covering 12 countries.[1][11] Plans are purchased and managed through the company's website and its mobile applications for iOS and Android, with eSIMs activated digitally without identity documents.[3][12] As of mid-2026 the company said its services had been used by more than two million people.[13]
