Top row L-R "Mobberley 1206" "Mobberley 1299" & "Mobberley 1306"
2nd row center "Mobberley 1322" - This is the foundation for the Mobley family crest !

Family legend has it that the Mobley family name was "won" during service in an English battle. Our common  (Blount) ancestor organized a "mob" on the battlefield into an effective fighting force and was awarded the battlefield family name of "Mobberley". This was later 'Americanized' to "Mobley" after a young Mobberley lad fled to America to avoid a strict father and limited opportunities at home. Our family creed has always been to defend those who are too weak to defend themselves. Long live England, long live the Mobberleys and the Mobleys, and long live our joint family creed.

Gordon and Shirley Mobley are servants in a Christian household of faith, where their priorities are: God, Family, and Country. And, in that order! Being Christians, we have a lot of fun, but we also know the proper perspective to put things into. Life is all too brief, but you can choose your own future:

BERJAYA

It may be a 'joke', but it is true. Going to church does not make you a 'Christian' any more than going to the garage makes you a car. Far too many people think that they're 'saved' and 'christian' without ever reading the Bible or following the commandments of God. To examine some of the more popular false doctrines and to find out what the Bible says:

And, if you're ever in Dallas, Texas please feel free to attend the Easton Road Church of Christ located at 700 Easton Road, Dallas, Texas. Sunday Bible class starts at 9 a.m. and worship services are at 9:50 a.m. & 6 p.m. where Gordon sometimes has the opportunity to preach a sermon.

Our Family Information:

Gordon serves as the head of the household and as the principal of our home school. He is the harshest critic of himself and tries to see to it that our home school, and the family, remain on track. Our motivation for home schooling is pretty obvious in today's society: our prayer in school is mandatory, there is no "socialization" with kids who can't speak for more than a few minutes without cursing, there are no illegal drugs in our school, no violence, the THEORY of evolution is only studied from the point of view that there is more scientific evidence for Creation than Evolution (and there is), classical liberal - free market economics is explored (not the Republican brand which provides artificial socialist support for big businesses, but real free market stuff where there is a strong middle class and the common man benefits), Southern History is taught (dig into Mr. Lincoln's war with an objective mind and you will be shocked at what history reveals), etc., etc., etc. - all points of view that are certainly worthy of discussion and study but which are banned today from the government schools.

Shirley has been a Home school Teacher since the birth of our 1st child, and attended the 1st home school book fair when our oldest child was only 2 years old! She is fully committed to home schooling as long as she is able to do so and as long as it works for the family! She is also very active in 4H (Head, Heart, Hands, and Health) and she is always seeking new 'recruits':

Lushanya is our oldest child (pronounced "loo-shane-ya") and she will be 11 this Halloween. Her name depicts her Indian Heritage and means Song Bird in the Chickasaw language. She is a Little Ambassador of Plano and has performed with the Younger Generation Children's Choir at the Plano Balloon Festival, Dickens Fest, and at Walt Disney World (yeah, we had lots of fun).

Mary is our middle child. She is 9 years old and is named after her grandma and her nickname is Sugar Bear. She is very dear to us, but we are working very hard to eliminate the 'bear' and keep the 'sugar'. She is our 'sensitive one' and keeps us all aware of the "touchy-feely" side of life. We really need this for "life balance" !

George Edward is the family 'baby', he is 5 years old and thinks that he's at least 8.  He is named after one of the United States founding fathers, George Washington and after a Southern patriot, General Robert Edward Lee. George's name depicts the Mobley Family Heritage, because the family took very active parts in both the American Revolution and in the War of Northern Aggression. He has his grandfather's (Grady Mobley) sense of humor and always, always keeps us in good humor. He keeps us aware of the "lighter side" of life. And, again, we really need this!

Are you interested in attending a Mobley Family Reunion ? There are a few held in Georgia, but we are considering setting one up for Saturday, May 27th, 2000 (Memorial Day weekend) at Lake Texoma. If you are interested, email us with "Mobley Family Reunion" in the subject field.

"Swiss Indians"?
My maternal grandmother came to the United States from Switzerland when she was a little girl. So, you might say that we are "Swiss Indians". The Swiss Confederacy (not to be confused with the irreligious, freedom-hating Swedes) has enjoyed peace for over 500 years! And, they have a fully armed citizenry that is very protective of their free Confederation of States. Each Swiss canton has its own information, but for general information, try:  the Swiss Confederacy

Southern Heritage.

My great grandfather, Eleazer Mobley, fought in the War Between the States (or the War of Northern Aggression). He served with the 1st Georgia Infantry Regiment and he and many of his family settled in Indian Territory (Oklahoma) after the war. The 1st Confederacy (1776-1789) lasted 13 years and the 2nd Confederacy (1861-1865) lasted 4 years. Considering our current plight, perhaps a 3rd Confederacy is needed:

Liberty isn't perfect, it's just better than the alternative. Mobleys have fought in the Revolutionary War, the War Between the States, and WWII. Over the centuries, our ancestors have respected and prized both liberty and justice. Gordon and Shirley have been active in politics. Both have run for political office and both have served as Delegates to National Libertarian Party Conventions.

Under current conditions, if you believe in Liberty, then you can't possibly be a Republican nor a Democrat, and you may just be more of a Libertarian than you thought ! Click here for a quick, fun test of your political beliefs:

Chickasaw motto: "Unconquered and Unconquerable".

After the War Between the States my great grandfather and several members of his family left a burned and shattered Georgia for Indian Territory (Oklahoma) and he married a Chickasaw maiden. My own father, Grady Mobley, has a birth certificate from Indian Territory (1904) and was listed on the "Chickasaw rolls" as a tribal member.

The Chickasaws defeated the combined forces of the French and Choctaw nations in several pitched battles. Our "downfall" was accomplished by the American federal government's lust for "Indian" lands. Chickasaws relocated to Oklahoma peacefully and maintained their own independent Nation for quite a few years. We are slowly re-building the Nation once again today.

My Aunt "Lushanya" Mobley - a Chickasaw princess who won hard earned fame as one of the world's premiere opera stars (1940's and 50's). She was world famous and did a command performance before the King and Queen of England, appeared in a light hearted movie with Eddie Cantor (look him up, he was a major movie star in his day [the movie was "Whooopee!], and just flat captivated audiences around the world with her voice. She had 4 brothers and 3 sisters, but only my Dad, Grady Mobley (2 sons and 1 daughter), my Uncle Ben Mobley (1 daughter), and my Aunt Louise Watkins (4 daughters) had any children!
