The boutique revolution is rewriting hospitality: bespoke, sustainable, tech-savvy, and unapologetically personal. Big chains are scrambling to keep up. The future of travel? Authenticity, not cookie-cutters. #HospitalityTrends #BoutiqueHotels #SustainableTravel #TechInHospitality #BleisureTravel Practice Hospitality Management

This is it. I can't wait to see more hospitality brands forge deeper relationships with their communities both local and abroad. I believe the smaller hotel brands have a big opportunity to be experimental and nimble with this as a marketing tactic.

Thinking small isn't just about size it's about the depth of connection. In a world chasing scale, intimacy and authenticity are the true luxuries. How do you see tech playing a role in scaling this kind of personalized hospitality without losing its soul?

Love this article & all the touchpoints covered. My entire career has been devoted to this segment & I am thrilled it now receives the attention & accolades it deserves. My only concern is that I often don't encounter management during a stay. Front desk & concierge staff are welcoming & willing...but I miss the days when General Managers would intermingle with guests, know their children's names, etc. That human connection could go a long way in cementing a return visitor + ambassador.

I have a feeling this trend has been steadily gaining momentum for quite some time. From a development perspective, the ship doesn’t turn quickly, and it’s critical to recognize that key decisions made today—particularly when it comes to energy and technology solutions—will have a lasting impact on a property’s performance, efficiency, and value for decades to come. Thoughtful planning and future-proofing these choices are not just investments in sustainability, but also in long-term market competitiveness and desirability.

I wish that was true, still fighting with the cookie cutter uniforms, I do bespoke but it seems that Hotels boutique or not still go with generic looks

Great read! Thank you for writing and sharing it. Boutique, bespoke, curated environments, experiential spaces and amenities with deeper meaning and connections to our ethos appears to be the path forward. Let’s hope it has the legs to run the course and not fizzle out like so many of our dreams. Complacency will be our death. Continue to demand the best from the world and all of us Bashar Wali !! ps is that the bar @ The Scott Resort at the beginning of the article?

And incredible coffee options I would imagine.

Great read - one thing missing from the list of a tailored stay - the lighting, temperature, and even the fragrance…music plays a huge role here too, appealing to the guest demographic and enhancing a brands individual character and surroundings. It’s going to be a fascinating few years where creativity and curation will (hopefully) take centre stage!

Bashar, you effortlessly articulated so many amazing realities of our industry. Appreciate you and your perspective.
