The electrical department is decentralised with all the zones and co-ordinates all the activities through Headquarter Office. The key functions of this department are: Carries sufficient street light works on various roads in whole city according to Bombay Provincial Municipal Corporation, BPMC ACT 1949 section 6 clause 63(7)(18)(19),66,249,251&252. Repairs & maintenance work of street lights, electrical works of various PMC schools, hospitals, crematoriums, gardens, cultural halls, theaters, erection & maintenance of lifts, air conditioning systems etc. We work simultaneously with various PMC departments like Traffic, Water Supply, Drainage and Garden. Conversion of overhead lines to underground cables for road widening & on newly constructed road bridge projects. Temporary electrification works during Ganapati & other festivals. Provide & maintain adequate street light on newly constructed roads and various PMC buildings. Save electricity by using LED and Solar Energy. Shifting of MSEDCL electric poles obstructing in road widening. Install & maintain streetlights, high masts, decorative lighting in PMC limits. Install & maintain Substations, Generators, Lighting, Air conditioning of all PMC buildings.
