Associate degree

An Associate Degree or Associate's degree is an Undergraduate Degree given after a course of post-secondary study lasting two to three years. It is above a High school Diploma and below a Bachelor's Degree.

The first associate degrees were awarded in the United Kingdom during the 18th century before the model spread to the United States and later to the Soviet Union states in the 19th century. It is commonly offered by community colleges; technical institutes; and some universities. The qualification was also introduced in Australia, New Zealand, and several European Union countries during the 20th Century.::.
