Built to support mission readiness at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, the Maintenance Hangar project showcases how thoughtful design and construction can deliver long-term functionality, efficiency, and durability. From the aircraft maintenance hangar and armament storage facility to the mobile maintenance storage area, every element of this project was designed to support daily operations while blending seamlessly with the surrounding campus environment. RQ managed construction of the full complex, including new access roads, parking, utilities, drainage improvements, and sustainable landscaping using native and drought tolerant plants. Projects like this reflect RQ’s commitment to delivering high performance facilities that support critical operations while building with quality, safety, and sustainability in mind.

Construction Safety Week 2026 reinforced our shared commitment to protecting workers through Recognize, Respond, and Respect. At RQ, safety is more than a priority. It is a core value. We value people over all other things and are committed to a safe work environment on every project. Recognize ⚠️ The industry has made real progress, but serious injuries and fatalities still occur. Recognizing high energy hazards on the jobsite is critical to preventing them. Early identification, paired with clear communication and proven hazard recognition practices, helps protect our teams and strengthens a culture of care. Respond 🛠️ Responding is about acting before something goes wrong. When we build safety into the plan, prioritize direct controls, and adjust as conditions change, we turn awareness into real protection. The goal is to eliminate, reduce, or isolate hazards through planning, engineered controls, and field verification before work begins. Respect 🤝 Respecting the plan goes beyond following steps. It means trusting the process, reassessing when needed, and creating an environment where every worker feels empowered to speak up and use Stop Work Authority. That is how we prevent serious incidents and address the risks that matter most. When we fail to follow an established plan or skip reassessing conditions as they change, we increase the risk of serious incidents. Respecting the plan goes beyond compliance. Construction Safety Week Day 3: Stand-Down to Prevent Falls ⚠️👷 Today we join OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls, one of the most critical safety efforts in our industry. Falls remain a leading cause of worker fatalities and life altering injuries, yet nearly all of them are preventable with the right preparation, equipment, communication, and awareness. Fall protection only works when it is used correctly every time no shortcuts and no exceptions.
