David Batty: +Matěj Trakal Yeah I wouldn't worry aboit it too much. After the Amazon issue and the fact that you can pay companies to install and give 5 star ratings the whole review process is looked at as a joke. Not one person I know pays attention to it and most of the apps on all their devices are like 2 stars or less because of stuff like you mention.

Neil H: Android studio 2.3 still has a few bugs though, especially when you're running multiple flavours. Have also found many glitches when switching between branches using Git, and I constantly have to run a clean after changing code or the changes won't appear on the device. Android studio runs out of memory every now and then as well on my MacBook pro. Even with all this it stays the best development tool, nothing else can compete.

Pel 78: Hey. Im a student and must do an app for art. I used tigerappcreator to do this. It tells me I must use a google developer account, but I cant afford to pay 20 dollars. If you could let me only publish it for 24 hours from now it would make my day, thank you for your attention. :-)

A.E. Veltstra (André): I wasn't going to start Android app development because it lacked the capabilities of java 8. I'm happy to hear this, and I'll start as soon it I can, after it lands.

Christophe Beyls: +Matěj Trakal Not exactly, right now you need API 24 (Android 7) to get the new Java 8 APIs like streams but you can still use some language features in older versions. I don't know if Google plans to backport Java 8 APIs.

Christophe Beyls: You can already use lambdas today for any Android version by using Jack. Google announced they will drop Jack support and will instead add support for Java 8 bytecode so Java 8 bytecode with lambdas will be translated to dex.

I think it's a good news that they focus their efforts on a single toolchain and they chose the one with the highest compatibility. Also, Kotlin is gaining a lot of popularity and compiles to bytecode as well.
