Assistant Controller

TRC Talent Solutions is partnering with a growing organization seeking an Assistant Controller to support and strengthen the company’s financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to take ownership of core financial functions while developing toward a future Controller-level role within the organization.

Summary

The Assistant Controller will support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and cash flow management while partnering closely with leadership on broader financial strategy and operational initiatives. This role is designed for someone who wants long-term growth into a Controller position and enjoys balancing detailed accounting responsibilities with higher-level business visibility.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger activities
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reporting
• Support cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities
• Ensure Purchase Orders align accurately with invoicing and financial records
• Partner closely with leadership on reporting, compliance, and financial operations
• Maintain accurate financial records and support internal controls and accounting procedures
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Help drive financial clarity, process consistency, and operational discipline across the organization
• Support ongoing process improvement initiatives within accounting and finance operations

Requirements

• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Experience managing full-cycle accounting processes including AP, AR, reconciliations, and general ledger activities
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating cross-functionally
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
