Google just pushed UCP's updates for April — the first version covering the full commerce loop: catalog, cart, checkout, fulfillment, payment. Two questions every platform and retailer needs to ask right now: 1. Does my implementation actually pass the latest spec? 2. Can agents browse my site and buy from me effectively? We built answers to both at Runtype: an open source UCP reference server for the latest version, a client validator, and a deployable AEO analyzer template for merchants. Then the fun part: Running product evals to pick the right model for UCP buying agent use case. Nate Stewart tested frontier vs. open source models on real UCP queries. Sonnet came in at nearly 1,200% more cost than the baseline. Mistral 14B? Lower cost, lower latency, and a more concise response. You may be forgiven for not noticing - given a lack of major fanfare - earlier this week the cdc exchange team quietly launched a suite of cli, mcp and tui tools to satisfy your agentic trading and dopamine needs. We've gone OS on this launch - in time we'll look into opening up for submissions from the community - but, right now we're keeping this locked to known contributors for safety and security. An interesting tidbit: The cli and mcp tools derive methods and arguments directly from the published exchange OpenAPI (OAS) spec and can be refreshed in realtime, if we launch new features, products and markets you get them instantly 24/7. ProxyML doesn't — your training data never leaves your environment. The SDK generates a linear surrogate model from synthetic data, gives you counterfactual explanations, and produces governance-ready benchmarks for SR 11-7 and similar requirements. pip install proxyml to install the SDK, samples available in the repo. Monitorex 0.3.0 just landed on Hex! 🚀 Last few days have been wild — I've been building an HTTP telemetry dashboard for Phoenix apps while also learning how to properly orchestrate AI agents to help me code. The library: Monitorex gives you real-time visibility into outbound (Tesla/Finch/Req) and inbound Phoenix traffic with a dark LiveView dashboard. No DB needed — all ETS-backed. Timeline inspector, Prometheus metrics, alert webhooks, cluster support, the works. The process: I used Hermes Agent to handle a lot of the heavy lifting — spawning sub-agents for code review, running CI checks, managing PRs via Telegram. By the end I was basically pairing with an AI that knew the codebase better than I did. It's a weirdly effective workflow: you think in issues, it thinks in branches.
