MX Linux
MX Linux is a Debian-based Linux distribution developed through a collaboration between the antiX and former MEPIS communities. The project is known for its balance of stability, performance, and ease of use, especially on older and mid-range hardware.
The distribution ships primarily with the Xfce desktop environment, while KDE Plasma and Fluxbox editions are also available. MX Linux includes a collection of custom utilities known as MX Tools, which simplify system configuration, package management, driver installation, backup creation, and live USB remastering.
Built on top of Debian Stable, MX Linux focuses on reliability while still offering newer hardware support through its AHS (Advanced Hardware Support) releases. The distribution is widely recognized in the Linux community for its practical defaults, efficient resource usage, and strong hardware compatibility.
MX Linux also provides features such as live USB persistence, snapshot tools for creating portable system images, and a curated software selection aimed at desktop users. Its combination of simplicity, performance, and maintenance tools has made it a popular choice among both new and experienced Linux users.
