The Faustman Lab is conducting clinical trials to assess the effects of Bacillus Calmette-Guérin vaccination on blood sugar control in children with type 1 diabetes!  Results of the eight year follow up of the Phase II clinical trial were announced and showed for the first time that an immunotherapy can safely and durably improve established type 1 diabetes.
