  • Microsoft 365 Archive allows you to keep your data in SharePoint, providing benefits not possible when the data is migrated elsewhere.  
    • Archiving within minutes, regardless of the amount or size of content being stored.
    • Admin search indexes remain intact.
    • SharePoint sites are archived and rehydrated without the loss of metadata and security versioning.
    • Eliminates the need to manage data in a separate security and compliance domain. 
  • Yes, content that has a legal hold can be archived.
  • Microsoft 365 Archive supports admin-level and Microsoft Purview–based content searches. End-user searches are not currently supported, but will be available in the future.
