Dragonflight: Increased Perception

Dragonflight: Increased Perception

In trying to keep up to date with my Tuskaar Renown, I was faced with the need to fish up three battered nets and three draconian nuggets. The offer is improved nets. The new version of the net will reduce the timer from ten hours to six hours and increase the number of fish collected.

I have to say that I’m glad that they’ve kept it casual. And, once you’ve spent the time fishing the upgrade items, you’ll have enough fish to not need the nets! So, while they’ve added some fun stuff to fishing, there is no need to obsess on it.

So, the deal is that you are trying to get rare items. The upgrade pieces, the nets and nuggets, are rare. And so are the bottles with recipes and the coins which are very nice to find. I have the low-grade fishing pole, but I have enchanted it up to 40 perception. Spending a few hours yesterday, it was an odd blend of relaxation and frustration. I had earned only one net (which may have been a quest item?) and one nugget.

Last night I learned about Crystalline Phial of Perception. The Alchemists are finally learning how to make them. Curious, I put in a work order (my second ever) and was glad that I somehow already had the materials. I offered a 20-gold tip on the assumption that their crafting would get them points in improvement.

So, this morning I checked my mail and found that I had ordered up ten phials! These are the lowest order of phial with thirty increased perception for thirty minutes. The fancy ones will offer up forty and fifty perception but not seen yet via work orders. These are Bind-on-Pick-up so they cannot be sold in the AH or even handed over.

In ninety minutes, I had my nets and nuggets. I had fished up the materials for future upgrades on my harpoon. Maybe five copper coins and two draconian bottles. Now I feel like I will never want to fish again without the perception boost from the phial. I am eager to eventually learn the fancy fisherfriend pole for my engineering. And, most likely, I’ll be done and sick of fishing for a while!

I have over 100 Ominous Conches. Our raid team spends some time after raiding to pull some of the giant fish and rares but everyone has these things. My guess is that I’ll toss some of them out. And it is very fun to use these in a big group.

So, now that the players are catching up on their crafting stuff with rods, enchants and phials; I’d suggest to not even start fishing without being jacked up on perception! They’ll be pretty cheap soon.
