Saving should be working again, but please save your words offline before reloading the site and confirming that everything is working again for you. We'll be fixing any streaks that have been broken as a result. Email us at support@750words.com with details or DM us here.

We're currently looking into a problem with some entries not saving on V2 right now. Stay tuned, and for now if you do write your words, please save them offline somewhere just to be safe.

Thoughts on this new V2 illustration for when you complete your words before the daily nudge goes out?

The stats page charts should be working again! 📈🎉

And now I've repaired streaks from December 3rd as well. And added everyone back to the monthly challenge if you fell out on the 2nd or 3rd. Again, let us know if you still see anything that isn't as it should be!

I just repaired over a thousand streaks from yesterday. Please check your account to confirm and let us know if anything is still off.

Some things are still a bit wonky, so let us know if you run into anything. The charts on the stats page aren't working, for example. We'll fix these things and try not to break everything again.

Good news! The site is back up! Thanks goodness. We'll be spending the rest of the day working of fixing streaks and sending out the 2021 NaNoWriMo badges, which was tiny new thing that inadvertently caused this giant mess. Happy Friday, all!

Oh dear, y’all! I’ve got hundreds of replies asking for a V2 invite and only have so much pasting send me a DM power in me! I hope you see this and send me a DM! I’m standing by sending deets by the dozen! Love that so many of you are pumped for this!

If there are any sysadmins out there who have experience with Phusion Passenger and Nginx and Ruby on Rails, please ping me if you think you may be able to help. I could use another pair of eyes on this. Tomorrow, after kids are in school. Tonight, I sleep.

Outage update: After a very fun (read: not fun) 14 hours or so, it looks like we won't be able to fix this problem tonight (it's 1am in California, and I've been working on this since 11am or so). We're extremely sorry for the disruption to your writing today.

This is a great time to remind you that we are working on a big release of our new RAD baby, V2 of 750words. HMU if you want an invite and the code to enter!

Well, my goodness. We have hit another bump and outage this morning. We are both here at our desks working and will keep you posted.

It’s was a pleasure feeling your love and support while things were in chaos yesterday. Truly. We have a small community here that is super active and engaged. It means so much to us that you’re all so RAD. Thank you so much!!!

As ever, thank you for your patience. It’s safe to say that, after all this, our site is stronger than ever. We also feel more deeply engaged with our community here as a result of the madness.

1611 entries were completed by people on Sunday, and 1097 entries were completed yesterday. So far 1053 entries were completed today. It looks like people really do tend to do these in the mornings! So we probably have around 5-600 streaks to fix at this point.

So, if you haven’t had your streak fixed yet - don’t worry! It’s coming. I PROMISE. Streaks are important to us, too, we know firsthand how good it feels to maintain them when we are in a THING. While you wait for your streak, here are some interesting stats:

Buster could write a patch so that all the streaks are fixed at once. Which he’s doing anyway, because I could miss some. As it seems silly for both of us to spend time today fixing streaks - I’m just gonna wait for his patch later today…

Hi! Let’s chat about streak patches, shall we? I have fixed many this morning, but have MANY MANY to go. Manual streak fixing is time consuming - I could do it all day and still not yet to them all … OR…. (See replies…)

You can email us at support@750words.com if your streak was broken and not automatically repaired. I'll find a way to repair as many as we can automatically, but a few might fall through the cracks so let us know if that's the case.

THE SITE IS BACK UP! Holy crap that was not fun. But you should be able to log in and write words now. There are still some pages that won't work quite right, but we'll hunt those down in the next day or so.

By the way... just to be clear your words are SAFE and have nothing to do with this outage. They're stored in a safe place that's not on this server that is acting up. The problem involves serving webpages and all the complexity within that flow... but the data is good and safe!

Sigh. Sorry it's taking so long. I am currently re-installing the webserver and running into some issues, but still making slow progress.

For everyone worried about your streak, as we all are, just write your 750 (+) words on another app (Pages, Word, Evernote), then copy & paste when 750Words is back up. You will still have written your daily words and Kellianne will fix our streaks :)

Still working on upgrading the box. Feels a bit like two steps forward, three steps back at the moment, but we're actively working on it.

We'll of course repair any streaks that were broken due to this downtime. We know this is really inconvenient for everyone and will be working non-stop until it is recovered.
