Winners of the 30th World Wide Bridge Contest Announced

The 2016 World Wide Contest is now finalised and the winners announced. You can find the full list of winners by clicking here, and they will be invited to attend the final to be held in Beijing, China from 23rd - 25th September 2016. The WBF congratulates them for doing so well in the events.
CSB NBO Officers' Seminar
The President of the WBF, Gianarrigo Rona, Marcelo Caracci, President of Zone 3, the South American Bridge Federation, and Santiago Londono, President of the Colombia Bridge Federation attended the Seminar, held in Medellin, Colombia from 25th - 27th May.
All 10 South American NBOs attended the Seminar at which bridge promotion, the provision of material and future help for the development of bridge was discussed. The documents from the seminar will be posted in the Resources Section of this website in due course.
CBS Board Meeting
On the 30th May and 1st June the President and Treasurer attended the CBS Board Meeting where the activities and projects both of the CBS and WBF were discussed during the course of a very successful meeting. It strengthened the already excellent relationship between the two bodies who look forward to a future of friendship and co-operation.
Winners of the Youth Championships
At the same time, the Youth Championships were held, with Argentina and Colombia qualifying for the Junior Championship and Chile and Brazil for the Youngster Championship to be held in Salsomaggiore, Italy from 3rd - 13th August 2016.
The WBF meets ANOC & OCA President
On the afternoon of Thursday 17th May the WBF President Gianarrigo Rona, together with the BFAME Vice President Azwerul Haque, the Kuwait Bridge President Numan Al-Turki, were been received by Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Jaber Al Sabah, ANOC and OCA President in Kuwait City.
The meeting concerned the inclusion of Bridge in the 2018 Asian Olympic Games, to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The meeting, conducted in a very friendly atmosphere, was very profitable and Sheikh Ahmad assured his support.
In the evening President Rona met Officers and Members of the Kuwait Bridge Association who awarded him with a special plaque during a dinner, followed by a duplicate bridge session, kindly hosted by Dr. Amhad Alroumi, one of the founders of the Association.

2016 World Bridge Games, Wroclaw, Poland

This event comprises National Open, Women's, Seniors and, for the first time Mixed Teams followed by National Open, Women's Seniors and Mixed Pairs Championships.
