The winners for the 20th Annual OFTA Film Awards have been announced.

The Online Film & Television Association has selected Mad Max: Fury Road as 2015’s best film. In addition, it was presented eight other prizes (not including the promotional material award, which are not part of the official vote totals since they are not a direct part of the moviemaking process). George Miller’s post-apocalyptic story is about a captured wanderer and the escaped female prisoners who search for a better life. The film was also honored for Best Director, Best Editing, Best Production Design, Best Makeup & Hairstyling, Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing, Best Stunt Coordination, Most Cinematic Moment, and Best Movie Poster, an award is shared with Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The nominations for the 20th Annual OFTA Film awards were announced on Sunday, January 24, 2016.

Best Picture nominee Mad Max: Fury Road led the field of nominees with 13 followed by Carol with 10 nominations. The eight other films nominated for Best Picture are The Big Short , Bridge of Spies, Brooklyn, Inside Out, The Martian, The Revenant, Room and Spotlight. All five Best Director nominees were on this year’s Best Picture slate, the nominations going to Todd Haynes, Alejandro G. Inarritu, Tom McCarthy, George Miller and Ridley Scott.

The winners for the 19th Annual OFTA Film Awards have been announced.

The Online Film & Television Association has selected Birdman as 2014’s best film. In addition, it was presented five other prizes. Alejandros Gonzalez Inarritu’s single-take-simulated film follows the story of a washed-up actor, star of a huge superhero franchise, looking to rediscover his artistic roots by adapting a play on Broadway. The film was also honored for Best Actor (Michael Keaton), Best Ensemble, Best Casting, Best Original Score and Best Cinematography. Richard Linklater received the award for Boyhood. Filmed over a 12-year period, the film chronicled the coming of age of a young boy in a broken family. Linklater’s film received a total of four awards including the Best Director trophy.

Best Picture nominee The Grand Budapest Hotel led the field of nominees with 15 followed closely by Birdman with 14 nominations. The eight other films nominated for Best Picture are Boyhood, Foxcatcher, Gone Girl, The Imitation Game, A Most Violent Year, Nightcrawler, Selma and Whiplash. All five Best Director nominees were among this year’s Best Picture nominees, the nominations going to Wes Anderson, Ava DuVernay, David Fincher, Alejandro G. Inarritu and Richard Linklater.

The winners for the 18th Annual OFTA Film Awards have been announced.

The Online Film & Television Association has selected 12 Years a Slave as 2013’s best picture, awarding it 6 other trophies as well. Steve McQueen’s film about a free black man sold into slaver into the Antebellum south also took home awards for Best Actor (Chiwetel Ejiofor), Best Supporting Actor (Michael Fassbender in a tie with Dallas Buyers Club‘s Jared Leto), Best Supporting Actress (Lupita Nyong’o), Best Breakthrough Performance: Female (Nyong’o), Best Casting and Best Adapted Screenplay. Alfonso Cuaron took home the Best Director prize for Gravity. That film about a medical doctor marooned in space after satellite debris destroys the shuttle she’s working on. Cuaron’s film received a total of nine awards for its production and two prizes for the advertising campaign.

The eight other films nominated for Best Picture are American Hustle, Before Midnight, Blue Is the Warmest Color, Captain Phillips, Gravity, Her, Inside Llewyn Davis and The Wolf of Wall Street. All five Best Director nominees were among this year’s Best Picture nominees, the nominations going to Alfonso Cuaron, Spike Jonze, Steve McQueen, Alexander Payne and David O. Russell.
