Sarah Palin, who recently endorsed Texas senate candidate Ted Cruz in a competitive GOP primary, has started to make robocalls for the Tea Party-backed challenger -- and, reportedly, some of those calls are going out in the wrong state.

Except, of course, for the dig at Obama and the Democrats in the 5th frame. It's an election year, after all - we're supposed to ignore the mountain of evidence showing how Democrats are beholden to corporate interests and Wall Street.

Obama used a different word recently that I thought was brilliant framing, but I am drawing a complete blank. Did anyone else catch it, and remember?

As I recall it was one word and it connoted something like financial security, risk protection, consumer protection...

I appreciate the sentiment Tomorrow is expressing but his premises reflect the awful truth that we now live in a completely fact free media environment in which right wing nutjobs and emo-left idealists are able to basically make up stuff to be upset about, as if the reality isn't enough to be upset about.

Given the understandable outrage expressed at Matt Wuerker's idiotic cartoon of yesterday, I'm utterly puzzled by Tomorrow's cartoon of today.

Has DailyKos entered some sort of twilight zone competition for the stupidest cartoons in the world?

Tomorrow says in one panel,

"Not a single executive was prosecuted after the 2008 meltdown."  

Ever heard of Bernie Madoff?  The collapse of his fund was one of the events that set off the panic and collapse of 2008-2009.

Ever read the newspaper?  Like today?

Hedge fund billionaire and Goldman Sachs board member Rajat Gupta is going on trial today.

Tomorrow goes on to say in the same panel:

Not a single bank was nationalized ...

Virtually every bank was nationalized through TARP, by which the federal government bought hundreds of billions of dollars worth of equity in the form of preferred stock in the major banks, and then went on to buy preferred stock in literally hundreds of local and regional banks and credit unions.

You could look it up on ProPublica.

The entire tea party and OWS movements are largely reactions to the bailouts and the fact that people were upset that the terms of these partial nationalizations weren't severe enough.

And that doesn't even scratch the surface of the banks seized by the FDIC or the auto manufacturers basically nationalized by the Obama administration.

This is insane.

People make shit up nowadays and don't even blink an eye.

As I said, I understand the overall point that Tomorrow is trying to make, but does he really have to live in an alternate reality?

On the right there's Fox News.  On the left there's emo-prog.  Neither are part of the reality based community.
