George Zimmerman's Mother-in-Law Files Police Report Claiming He Stole Her Furniture, TV
(Latinospost.com) In the latest twist in the ongoing Zimmerman saga, his mother-in-law, Machelle Dean, filed a police report Friday claiming that he stole furniture and a television set from her house when she ordered him to leave.
George and his estranged wife Shellie were staying in Shellie's mother's house in Lake Mary, Flordia during his murder trial. However, according to TMZ, Dean claims that Zimmerman left with her belongings when she ordered him to vacate the property by Thursday.
President Barack Obama says he spoke by phone with Iranian President
(CNN) "President Barack Obama says he spoke by phone with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in the first communication between U.S. and Iranian leaders since 1979."
Obamacare Could Lead To 33% More New Businesses Over The Next Few Years
(Business Insider) Despite objections by businesses to parts of the Affordable Care Act, there could be as many as 33% more new small businesses over the next few years as a result of the law, reports the WSJ. The Kauffman-RAND Institute for Entrepreneurship Public Policy calculated the estimate. Why the projected increase?
A major barrier that keeps people, especially those with pre-existing conditions, from starting their own business is the ability to get robust and affordable health insurance. People seek out and keep corporate jobs, not because they want to, but because they feel like they have to. Entrepreneurs call the phenomenon "entrepreneurship lock."
Student Cited By Ted Cruz As Proof Of Obama's Failure Is Actually Grateful For Obamacare
(HuffPo) During his 21-hour talkfest on the Senate floor earlier this week, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) went through a litany of examples that he said highlighted the abject failures of President Barack Obama's policies.
One of them involved the case of John Connelly, a Rutgers student who found himself in debt, without a permanent job, and forced to sleep on his friend's couch. His story was one that was all too common in the age of Obama, Cruz concluded.
Rep King: Cruz Supporters Making 'Vile, Obscene' Phone Calls
(CNN) Rep. Peter King, who called fellow Republican Ted Cruz a 'fraud,' said his office is now receiving threatening phone calls from people who say they're supporters of the Texas senator.
"You can't always blame a person if his followers act in a terrible way," King said on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer." However, he expressed concern about the "vile, obscene" phone calls.
Wendy Davis tells Democrats shes in
(Politico) Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis and her advisers have begun informing influential Democrats that she intends to run for governor in 2014, according to multiple sources familiar with Daviss conversations.
The Fort Worth legislator made a national name for herself in June when she mounted a filibuster against new proposed abortion clinic regulations. Texas Republicans ultimately passed those restrictions into law in a special session called by outgoing Republican Gov. Rick Perry.
Obama responds to Creepy Uncle Sam ad
(MSNBC) Conservative billionaires Charles and David Koch have been two of the biggest financial backers of efforts to impede President Obamas agenda. During a Friday speech, the president called out the two major right-wing donors over their efforts to undermine the Affordable Care Act.
Some of the Tea Partys biggest donors, some of the wealthiest men in America, are funding a cynical ad campaign trying to convince young people not to buy health care at all, he said. I mean think about it: These are billionaires several times overyou know theyve got good health care.
