I'm all for a base on the moon but there are a couple pieces of reality that get in the way - first being lack of a developed tested delivery vehicle and the base facilities themselves. Second the financial reality of the United States and the global financial crisis that pulls us in.

Newt knows this promise is just another of his deep well of delusional lies. His supporters? Who knows? They are just half a bubble off from being Bachmann and Santorum people.

I have yet to hear a chirp of sanity from the Republicans in this election season.
